Strong impact player on the LOS and good in coverage when needed. That's a keeper for any franchise that wants to be in contention year in and out. However he will undoubtedly command a premium for playing in tristate area for a bad team. The Jets will never catch a break on this type of situation until they become a consistent winner of the regular season instead of the off-season. Marketing based teams always wind up losing in the end. Two of them are on the field today for our entertainment and the only reason either one has a chance to win is they are facing a similar plan. Definitely re-sign Adams if he allows and franchise him at least once if not. Then the Jets need to ask themselves which of the New England Patriots winners are focused on getting the biggest contract at their position in the NFL. The answer is none - which is why they win all the time. You can't build a winning team by paying players as if they were the most important player on the field. That just creates players looking to build themselves up instead of building the team up - which is what good teams do.
2 impactful games against 2 weak teams in a row and you're impressed? So if it was basketball and i averaged 30 against a few non playoff teams and single digits against the top teams you would still sing my praises?
idk...maybe they are planning for the draft while we are trying to beat all the bad teams and be in a poor position to get an impact player.
Remember...he couldn't get on the field at Bama. When he did his stock rocketed. Because of that I was wondering if he would struggle his first year and explode next year.
"Two games"? Guess you forgot to watch his rookie year where he rated top 5 amongst all defensive rookies. "Two games"? Guess you forgot to watch all of last year as he was selected to a Pro Bowl. "Two games"? Guess you don't understand he's having a 1st-Team All-Pro season this year as a 3rd year player. "Two games"? Lol I loved him while at LSU too this kid is an animal and it's more than just "two games" you little genius.
Geez these Adams fans are out of control today...first off these 2 games are the only times I've seen him make game changing impacts on games and they are vs two pitiful teams...second I don't think anyone wanted to trade Adams for nothing they wanted to trade him for franchise player like return...which by the way no teams were willing to do.
Douglas needs to do anything in his power to keep Adams in a Jets jersey for many many years. He's the next Troy Polamalu
You don't have to pick a side on Jamal Adams. He's a good player teetering on great. His greatness is around the LOS and not in coverage or ball hawking. He's best suited to be blitzing and moving towards the ball to break passes up via big hits. He's a very very good blitzer. For me, it's what the player can net to rebuild this franchise that is the most important factor vs. what the player will eventually command salary wise. If we can get three picks for him including a first I think you have to do it. But just because I think that doesn't mean I don't believe he's a good player. Do you think the Raiders felt as though Khalil Mack sucks?
