Was that the year where we kept facing dominant #1 WRs and Revis just kept shutting them down in a row? I know the 2009 defense was amazing just don’t remember if that was the same year, guessing it was
Yes. Shutdown future HOF wideouts on a weekly basis.... in an era that greatly favors the offense compared to years past.
Yup. And he faced all the top wrs that year. People were benching the likes of Calvin Johnson on their fantasy teams
Speaking of Adams.... didnt most of this bi-polar group want to dump the "over rated non impact making prima donna beast" just 2 weeks ago?
Yep. And we can all confirm that he legitimately followed them around the field and played across from them on every snap. Randy Moss 2x - 9 catches for 58 yards and that one TD.
Rex and Revis had QBs seeing ghosts on a weekly basis in 09....crazy blitzes and coverages with Revis taking out the #1 completely
Amazing how that works right? Funny thing is Adams did it TWICE! The first time the fumble landed right in Barkley's hands. Then he did THE EXACT SAME THING but stripped it and was out. They love to clown us when they can...but we got the W and the tape don't lie.
He was so lucky that Barkley was in perfect position to recover that one or Adams would have waltzed into the end zone.
I thought the way Adams handled the whole trade thing was childish, but I don't hate him. He may well be the best safety in the NFL at the moment. Unfortunately this team has a lot of personnel to turn, and it is going to take active free agency dealing AND lots of picks to get that done. It's going to be a tough call to make if someone offers the right package. JD is gonna earn his money this off season.....
What makes Jamal Adams so special is that he's able to impact and make plays despite his defense not having any pass rush nor any CB's whatsoever. Dude is an animal.
FYI jamaal adams for the season is the 2nd highest rated pass rusher in the NFL by PFF with a near perfect pass rush grade. dude is unblockable. he also has high marks in the run game and coverage game.
Gregg Williams has got to keep getting Jamal playing up towards the line as often as possible. He’s so fast and destructive up there - he’s almost wasted in the backfield!
I think that was the first time I saw Jamal play more as a Blitzer. He’s usually around the LOS as a run stopper but it seems Gregg has found another way to use Jamal. Just have him lineup everywhere and wreck havoc on the game.
