This coach sucks soooooo bad. Knew it going in. Hated the hire. Early in the season, I posted something about his offenses scoring 17 points or less in more that 50% of the games he's coached. I was met with foolish posts about who his QBs were, who his receivers were, etc. Well ... all you apologists can just stop. Chalk up ANOTHER EFFORT of 17 or less from a Gase offense. For the love of GOD ... You need to score 20+ a game to have any chance to win in this league. This guy has proven he can't do it ... no matter WHO is on the field. He sucks. He's a disaster. He's incompetent .... use whatever word you want to use. He has to go now. There is no fixing him. We need to fire him immediately and you can bet your life he will never be a head coach in this league again. What is the point of throwing 2020 in the trash? Anyone STILL think there is ANY chance of winning a championship with this coach??? PLEASE. EDIT -- AND he's going to cost us our best player
I hate the idea of sacking a HC just 8 games in, especially having dealt with the injuries and illnesses that the team has. But Gase has to go and now. There is not one thing I can point to that gives me a glimmer of hope that he is the guy to take the team forward.
Hey, what Woody doesn't know won't hurt him. Chris: "Hi Woody. How's it going over in London?" Woody: "Great! How's my team doing?" Chris: "Well, uh, there's something I need to tell you."
That was it for me. I'm not evaluating this season on results or defense for the most part. This hire was just make sam better and that has failed and piss poor effort all around. Good Offensive head coaches scheme to minimise weaknesses and maximise the strengths. Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
I'm all for firing Gase if and only if Douglas is told to both fire him and hire his replacement with no input from anyone not named Howard Johnson.
at least 1 person hopes Gase sticks around - rich kotite - cause at this rate gase's futility will certainly pass ole rich at some point next year. LOL
When you change FO and HC, you're starting over from square one because the new GM is going to have a different vision and the new HC is going to have a different system. It's asking a lot of the players to seamlessly move from the old regime to the new without issues and I think that's what we're witnessing. Some of the players may not be the kind that fit Gase's philosophy. I don't think dumping Gase, which means you probably have to dump Douglas as well, is going to resolve anything at this point. If I had any confidence that the Jets would hire someone better, I would agree with you.
I wouldn't assume that. There's no reason to dump Douglas. There's LOTS of reasons to dump Gase right now.
regardless of whether anyone knew it going in, or not-- this team has every indication of a rudderless ship-- and looks like a group that doesn't believe in each other and doesn't believe it will win. My regret is the front office was too scared to make potential trades at the deadline. Miami has the superior model here.... firesale and complete rebuild.
The Sam Darnold love fest needs to stop. Adam Gase is the problem, but people are pretty much blaming Gase for all of Darnold woes. (Essentialy using Gase as a scapegoat/deflection for their love of Darnold) Darnold is part of the problem to, he has been DREADFUL, if you do not see that, you are completely delusional. A coach should not be the difference in a QB playing like a NFL QB and not playing like a NFL QB. Changing coaches wont make Darnold look like he is a NFL player.....right now he doesn't even look like a football player, and that should be setting off alarms that perhaps he is just another bust incoming.
No reason to keep him either since Gase was the one who brought Douglas here. If I remember correctly Douglas didn't want the job, but reluctantly accepted after intense ownership pressure.
