Let's look at the true cost of those season tickets over the last two years for arguments sake (though most have had their tickets from the days of lore, but we won't go into that) Hey DBJ there's an idea "A Jets Christmas Carol" Now if you have 2 premier seats ($95 X 2 X 20) (2 pre 8 reg) (-$3800.) Parking 20 games x $20 (-$400) Tolls 20 games x $10 (-$200) Tailgating/Food/Misc 20 x $40 (-$800) Ok total $5200, so you say no problem, pocket change, yes for some, like the players maybe or you are a big WS Typhoon, or Pop is buying so who cares? Now assuming the team can win the last game of the season on New Years' Eve and no less with the time not set and maybe no hope of a playoff berth...this team has won 4 home games last year, and possible 4 home games this year for an average cost of ...can I get the cash register (-$650) per game for two tickets of enjoyment (assuming losses provide none, though you did get to party on the pavement of a swamp) Priceless, maybe, it depends on the perspective of the purchaser, and I bet the new stadium will be much cheaper with a better team, more home openers, more tailgating space, and a PSL that will make sure you have to take out another Capitol One loan to afford it, but hey Chad will be signing the helmets for us and Wayne too so we can think back on the good ole days in the cheap stadium when the G-men had all of the home openers to subsidize our cheap ticket prices Blast away, but I got that off my chest and I feel better:rofl:
$520 a game for two people. that is expensive. my wife and I can go to a broadway play and then go out to the best steak house in manhattan for way less than that.
I paid 450 bucks for a pair of two tickets tos ee the Jets/Packers back in 02. Yous eason ticket holders have it made. Of course I think that money was well spent.
At least you know your alive! Like I told my boss, you are lucky after two and a half years of bullsh*t I didn't tell someone to shove it up their a** but I do get away with alot, cause I know how to play the "Game"
If you enjoy the Jets winning it is $650 per game can we divide by two, so in reality it as a $325 tickets to happiness (future performance not withstanding) so maybe we need to make sure the players pay the same price for their relatives and friends, (would they play better? makes me wonder)
40 tickets @ 95 each = 3800 $15 parking @ 20 games = 300 Tolls? what a couple bucks back and forth? = not worrying about it Tailgating food = ~$20 (I'm assuming a couple burgers and drinks for 2 people) 3800 + 300 + (20 * 20) = 4500 Over 20 games = $225 per game (Not counting gas:wink: )
Hightstown is probably a solid hour to East Rutherford and 8 to 16W I could imagine being 3-4 bucks or so each way.
I live in Jackson which is at least 1 hour 20 minutes, I don't know what the tolls were b/c of easy pass though
Ok. If you have a better calculator, just 'cause I can't add or subtract or multiply? You can ask 117 or the others how much they spend on food to feed the masses..my numbers are conservative for a fan in Central NJ, and all of the stuff I take from all of the Giants fans who I probably worked for...they never questioned my abillity to put things into perspective, probably because they made tons of cash from stupid old me for helping them make alot of money... But yes my math can be questioned, but it was hypothetical, lessen your exposure when appropriate to your situation:beer:
I thought $40 for tailgating was steep too, but he did include miscellaneous there Remember that two beers in the stadium gets you to just about $20 so it's probably accurate
The way you should look at it is you are making this choice because you love the Jets. If someone else was choosing what you would be doing during those 8 Sundays you might end up with 8 bad ones. Be happy for the 4 good ones. I guess you could do something more constructive with the money, but that would be 8 Sundays where you wish you were at the Jets game and you would be miserable. They would cut to the smiling happy crowd, and you wouldn't be there. You'd be at brunch.
The night of the MN Miracle I stayed until the end, got home at 3:30 and went to work at 8:00, I was still so pumped because the Jets beat the most hated Dolphins it did not matter the cost, and it will not ever matter if the team comes out every week and plays with the same intensity...but I do miss the days when my buds and I could find some satisfaction at home...when was that? Jacksonville?
Yes maybe so but my cost per seat is quite less. When I use to attend the games I came from exit 117 of the GSP. My tolls on the GSP & Tpke was $5.00 R/T. Parking was $20.00. Never tailgated so no cost there. Seats were $65.00 each so my cost for 1 seat per game was Seats $ 65.00 Tolls $ 5.00 Parking $ 10.00 ( cut in 1/2 to be accurate per seat) Total per seat $80.00 X 10 games is $800.00 per seat or $1,600.00 for 2 seats for a entire season excluding POs
