This is good news to me. I don't care how rebuilding a team is it still needs core, players. I want to resign Robby next year, he has had an underwhelming first half of the season, but it's not his fault. Sam hasn't had time to throw the ball except for Dallas game where Robby had 5 catches 123yds & TD. As far as Bell is concerned you need the threat of him in the backfield or Sam will be TOTALLY TOAST , even more than he is now. Then there is Adams, we need his energy & pro bowl play. A lot of people heard the interview with Adams after the game and he sounded like he's getting tired of playing here, if that's the case trade him in 2 years. Hopefully the team & Adams will be in a position to resign him by then.

How can you say its good news when you dont know what a possible deal might have been? Just to be dramatic to prove a point, lets say someone offered four 1s for Bell. You;re happy? Get my point? Its just a nothing day not good or bad

None of this means JD will stand pat with this roster in the off season. I still think he's gonna flip this roster as much as he possibly can and it wouldn't surprise me to see both Bell and Adams get floated as trade bait. With Robbie about to become a FA, this off season is becoming crucial for both JD and the Franchise.

What was his reason for the comment. Only thing I can think is Gase starting to loose his grip with the team & they're starting to run him out of town. I was willing to give Gase a chance, but It just looks to me like players are not buying into his scheme & players are just going through the motions on the field & not playing as a unit. I personally think Bates got more out of the offense last year than Gase is this year.

We have a ton of FAs we need to keep. JD should be looking at extending some players now for next year. We currently have 24 players that will be free agents for 2020 and out of those 24 , 12 are currently starters. obviously some we need to let walk and need to upgrade (like beachum, kalil (retire), DT, shell) some we need to keep though like robby, ficken, lac, jenkins, maybe griffin, alex lewis, brian poole. you can only flip a roster so much in 1 off season. and getting some of it taken care of now in the "slow" part of a GMs season is smart planning for the long run so in the off season he can focus more on the draft and free agents and less players to resign. If i'm JD i'm working on extending robby and jenkins and poole right now. maybe even lac.

Agree to build around the young guys however Please Anderson can go. He s not a huge loss if he goes to FA. If they agree to a contract where he remains a jet ok fine and hopefully not a huge contract. But he is not the go to WR.

but as Cman stated Douglas can flip this team during the off season like Miami did.

No I don't get your point, because you had to make your point using a totally rediculas example of getting 4 #1 picks for Bell. I was speaking realistically.

ok and how do we reaplce robby? if robby walks our WRs for next year are crowder, enunwa (who can't be counted on to play again or stay healthy if he does), and bellamy (bum and should be cut). so realistically just crowder. we only have so many draft picks and need to address o-line and CB and edge more-so then WR with those picks. we'll probably use 1 mid rounder on a WR. even with that you want a 3rd round rookie and crowder starting with what in the slot? the free agent WR market is garbage this year. robby is the top WR on the market under 30 easily. so again how would we replace robby with no free agents to sign and not enough draft picks? not to mention he's been with sam since day 1

IF you liked that tweet go look at what Jamal Adams wrote less then an hour ago it has probably already been posted but I am just catching up on these threads. Adams basically called Joe Douglas a liar and a back stabber

    So you wouldn't be
Douglas specifically said " we did not shop Bell & Adams, teams came knocking on their door. So they listened & then slammed the door in their faces. He said he talked to Robb & Bell & not yet Adams. Douglas had no intention to shop or get rid of Bell & Adams. The media blew it all out of proportion .

Ian Rappoport reported that the Jets were offered a number one by the Cowboys for Adams but were not ready to deal him away so cheap. He said the Jets value was a number one and two number twos.

It sounds to me like Adams got some bad info from his agent, particularly after hearing Douglas state unequivocally that the Jets received offers but did not solicit any for him.

I'd say this day went about as bad as possible.
No unnecessary moves were made (which is good), but the only remaining players worth a shit now don't trust the FO either.
Gase and Douglas are real people persons.

The players are about to mail it in.
Total train wreck in every possible way this year, even on a Tuesday.

Douglas hedged---I heard the interview-----I don't blame JD for shopping anyone in fact I expected it and wanted it BUT IF Adams sat down with them a week ago and told them he wanted to stay I would think ( even though this is a business ) that Adams employers would give him either A) AN ASSURANCE HE WAS NOT GOING ANYWHERE or B) be straight up with Adams and say we cant make any promises as we will look to improve the roster any way possible. My feeling is they were not straight up with him and my best guess is Adams will either see that he was mistaken and he got bad intel and winds up apologizing or IMO I believe they did Adams wrong and were not straight up with him. Keep in mind I am in the minority here as I do not like Adams I think he talks way too much and if he played half as good as he yaps he would be Ronnie Lott. I am sure more will come out on this as Adams called his coach and his GM liars on twitter for the world to see.

This organization is a joke. They can't even field phone calls without somehow screwing it up.

My feelings exactly----I hated the Gase interview and JD did not impress me his answers were generic. What I would give for a GM and coach to come to the Mic pissed and instead of these BS answers say to the mic loud and clear this is unacceptable and I promise it will get better or heads will roll and asses will be on the bench regardless of position instead we get " we are close " and " we are having great weeks of practice " and " I have no problem with the coach he is doing a great job and I like his energy " PULEEEZE !!!!!!!!

Lev Bell has been a real professional throughout this atrocious season. Major kudos to him, I really hope we can reward him with some decent blocking soon....
