For all the shitty moves Mac made, this isn't one of them. Shame it didn't work out, but barring a restructure, I can't see anyway the Jets don't cut KO at the end of the season
Lewis has been the best player on the OL over the last two weeks. No shot KO would have gotten the job back anyways.
KO, we hardly knew ya. And now likely never will. Give Joe Douglas credit for improving the depth of this already thin O-line this off-season. He added players like Lewis and now he is playing well. Can't wait to see what Douglas comes up with the next couple years.
That may be, but someone posted PFF stats that showed that he was the highest-rated Jets OL, ahead of Winters et al. I suspect that the shoulder pulled down the level of his play. I hate this. I really like him and was excited when we got him. He hasn't played as well as I had thought he would. I have a suspicion that it's the blocking scheme and he's just not a good fit. If he goes to another team next year with a man blocking scheme, I think he'll play a lot better, unless his body is just starting to break down on him.
The OL has been better with him out. The reports are that he wouldn't have even regained his starting job if he came back and didn't need surgery. This is not a big loss at all when you look at the facts. Either way, this trade made all the sense in the world so you can't get on Macc for making it. I thought it was going to work out way better than it did. It didn't, at all. He's been downright bad and maybe he was just banged up the whole time but the bottom line is Alex Lewis has been better the last two games than KO was the first 3.
Yeah it appears that KO has played his last game for the Jets. Not as big as a loss as it sounds. Lewis has played pretty well in his absence.
the OL looked better with him out because the QB came back and even then they couldn't run the ball. He's the best run blocker on that line, of course it stings. What can ya do though? players get injured
It doesn't sting even a little bit unless Lewis goes down and we need to replace him with a backup. The line is better with him over KO. It's well-documented. KO wasn't even going to get his job back so like I said, the only way this stings is if we lose Lewis because our depth on the OL is poor.
I think I'm with BrowningNagle on this one. Alex Lewis has really stepped up and that's fantastic. But that doesn't mean losing KO is a "good" thing by any stretch. Theres a long way to go yet and I'm not sure KO got to show his best in the limited time he had. Hopefully Lewis can keep it up. Picking him up is looking like a gold star two thumbs up move so at the moment.
I don't think anyone thinks this is a GOOD thing. It's bad for depth, but it's not anywhere near as big of a loss as some are making it out to be because the bottom line is Osemele was not good. Whether it be scheme, health, age, whatever... he wasn't good and Lewis has been better.
