anyway back on topic, jets should look to trade shell. we obviously aren't going to resign him, edoga is playing well in his place. texans RT just went out for at least a month if not 2 or 3 and they are looking to trade for a replacement. if we can get a mid round pick for shell i'd take it. maybe a 4th
I wouldn't make any trades. Keep the locker room together. Give Leonard Williams the rest of the year to either step up or not be re-signed. He is likely gone, Trumaine Johnson likely gone, half the O-line is likely gone, but I would worry about that after the season. Not right now. UNLESS there is a player for player kind of thing that helps the Jets right now.
No team will offer a good o lineman mid season though. At least not one who would be looking to add at the deadline
disagree. houston is loading up for a SB run. they already traded away 2 1st rounders for tunsil. they traded for duke and hyde, their starting RT is going to miss 1-3 months. Shell is much better then whoever his replacement will be and wont' cost them an arm and a leg either and isn't under contract past this season. They are desperate for o-line help and even their RT who got hurt, was a 4th round projected pick they over drafted in the 1st round. They spent 3 1st rounders already on their tackles in the past 8 months. Shell has started like 50 games in his career and has shown to be at least average. he didn't even look bad at LT sunday except for the 1 wrong assignment play.
True, but Trent Williams is giving Washington nothing right now, i believe he is only 31 so he can shore up the LT spot for the next 3-5 years if we trade Leo for him straight up (granted i have no idea how much he is being paid)
There are a healthy amount of teams tanking though. It doesn’t matter if they win or lose so they flip an offensive lineman for a flyer on Leonard Williams. I could see it happening
If Houston is trying to go for a super bowl, they aren’t gonna be calling the NY Jets to trade for an offensive lineman just benched from the worst offensive line in the league
watson has been sacked 18 games. 5th worst in the NFL. They just lost their starting RT for the next 1-3 months. he'll be back for a playoff run but in the meantime they need to keep watson upright and alive. if he goes down, their run is over. moving a 4th rounder to get someone to start for a few months then provide depth makes sense for a team that has already traded a ton of picks to be in this position. and they just took down KC. really at this point the texans have as good of a shot as any team to make the SB in the AFC
What? You want to get a 4th for shell and I play madden too much? I think you are reading something wrong here bruh
you don't understand negotiating. desperate team with a huge hole at RT all of a sudden that needs to protect it's QB. jets have a RT who has started 50 games, is still young, and has no guaranteed money. a 4th is a small price to pay for that. if their replacement RT gets watson killed their season is over.
Redskins are a bad team. Bad teams do stupid stuff like stand on principle instead of mitigating losses .
