They gave the Raiders a pick for him, what round was it? I'll see if I can look it up. edit: looks like its a 5th rd pick
Yes, because he can stretch the field. He would be a good threat for when the Jets get a strong armed QB.
Apparently he was released because of attitude problems and study habits. He got benched after that fumble against us, and had attitude about it afterwards. If he pissed off Belicheck because of things such as that, there is no way he'd be tolerable to Mangini either.
I don't think BB ever forgave him (Gabriel) for that fumble , which ultimatley cost the Pats the game. Strait is NOW with the Panthers after the Beras released him , topping up his air miles
At this point I'd prefer Harrington for the future than Culpepper. Give Harrington a new O-Line and he'd be a lot better than he is.
All Im going to say is bring Up the thread when patriots acquired him for fifth. See What I had to say.(stand by it) Lets see raiders Recieved a fifth rounder and got D gabriel back for next couple weeks. (alot Of patriot fans have alot of egg on their face right about now.)
Yes you are correct, i really messed up that one. good catch. Reread the thread and I think I nailed it. Be careful of making trades with AL Davis. In the end he alwaysc seems to come out ahead. BTW Just remember my raider Jet prediction. Jets offense and pennington won't do anything against raiders defense. He struggles mightly against Defense like the Raiders. Just hope Vikings end your season because it would stink to see raiders end it again.
Pretty smart. For a couple weeks, IF Gabriel signs with another team in FA (nice size) than Raiders possible could get some kind of compensation. Than you could be looking not only at a fifth(from patriots), but possible something more. Not bad. Lets see raiders should get a third rounder FOR losing C woodson in FA. A fifth for D gabriel(patriots), a six or seven for B hamilton(jets). Not to mention Raiders are drafting real early again. Unlike years past where they drafted heavy for defense, this year will be offense.
