I wouldn't say that they're above criticism, they just always seem to out Machiavelli Machiavelli.

The funny part is, after all of Gruden's mealy-mouthed limp-wristed bullshit about how we did everything to keep him blah blah blah we did everything to make him happy blah blah blah the Raiders may have inadvertently dodged a serious bullet. Too bad.

If as she claims she was violently raped by AB, AB should be off the streets. He's not just a checkbook to compensate this women, he's a danger to society. If as she claims she was violently raped and reported it and had a rape kit done there would have been evidence to criminally convict.

When a crime is committed against anyone how can society protect itself from predators if the victims don't come forward? I get that we compensate damage to victims with monetary settlements. We also have a communal responsibility to get predators off the street.

Well obviously the criminal justice system has failed at that for awhile and could use some changes to help victims

She didn't come forward when the evidence was available. What can the justice system do if victims don't come forward?

uhhh... she's coming forward now. check the news

why was Jerry Sandusky able to rape little boys for decades? should we get on them for not coming forward? Jeffrey Epstein had a rape/sex mansion on Mar-A-Lago, why didn't those women/girls come forward?

great questions....- maybe they thought they would not be believed. Idk, but it doesn't make those guys innocent

That’s the problem; we may all believe the accusations but it’s simply not just to punish him if you can’t prove it.

That being said, absent of the rape, if she has texts that prove the sexual harassment I don’t see how the NFL doesn’t take action on those incidents. I think jerking off all over her back, without her consent, is worth the same punishment as punching your girlfriend in the face.

I'm not saying he's innocent or guilty. I don't have enough information either way.

She's not getting a dangerous, violent rapist off the streets. She's going to get a monetary settlement and he walks out the door. She could have done both.

The reality is if victims come forward immediately there is a better shot at preventing further damage.

FYI there is a difference between children, adolescences, and adults. This adult women made a very serious charge of a violent rape after 2 previous accounts of sexual assault. Doesn't an adult have a responsibility to at least try to get a violent rapist off the street? Her suit will not do that.

FYI who said get her? The reality is predators will continue to prey on other people as long as they are allowed to prey on other people. Coming forward in a civil suit will not stop him.

Sandusky and Epstein were enabled by very powerful people and were abusing children. Apples and root veggies.

You cannot have a fair criminal justice system based on presumptions of innocence without victims willing to come forward and provide evidence.

When you live in a Democracy there is a shared responsibility by the citizens to both protect themselves and their fellow citizens from predators. That means coming forward.

In any society there is shared responsibility which includes victims. Without a shared responsibility it's simply dog eat dog, everyone for themselves. We might as well dump the entire concept of criminal justice.

It is her responsibility. It's also the responsibility of the police, the prosecutors and anyone who is called to serve on jury duty. If she has no responsibility to the greater society why should I as a taxpayer pay for her to go to court for a Civil action that only provides compensation to her and her attorney without providing any protection to the greater society. Why is that a shared society function to help her get a monetary settlement. Because we have chosen to provide it as a society.

It's not solely her responsibility it is a shared responsibility.

hm. well I definitely believe there should be more to help victims come forward, absolutely.

I don't think criticizing her (or anyone really) for not coming forward sooner is going to help with the problems you identified though. Thats a major reason victims don't come forward, people criticize them and they feel shame. sad.

whether it may be true or not, he's finished if another person comes forwards saying similar things. If that happens, expect the Pats to cut him immediately.

Victims don't come forward for lots of reasons. In this case she is coming forward. Shame is clearly not the issue in this case.

If they didn't "come forward" on the internet seeking money, there would probably be a lot less criticism. All "victims" need to do to "come forward" is call the police and file a report. Not create a public spectacle with accusations on twitter and suing for money.

That screenshot only helps AB because no reasonable person could ever interpret such an exercise of literacy shortcomings.

shame so deep she couldn't make a call to the police nobody would know about, but not deep enough to make a public spectacle on the internet?

also shame so deep after the 2nd alleged incident she still asked him for a 1.6 million dollar loan?
