darnolds biggest problem was his snap count. he used the same cadence on every shotgun snap. thats the main reason the bills were able to knock down so many balls and get into the backfield so quickly
No one wants to confront the possibility that Darnold may not be guy. When the best thing he did was not turn the ball over....
Sure it's possible. But a dink and dunk game against a really good defense doesn't reveal much one way or the other. Let's see what happens when he faces a weaker defense (like the Browns), and he has to throw downfield because the other team is scoring before the fourth quarter. By the end of the season, we'll know.
I'm not saying he ain't the guy...I'm just saying what if? Sure...one shitty game...lots of excuses why... But what I saw was a qb that was short arming throws off his back foot & not reading the field. The Franchise Quarterback tag was hung on this kid way too early.
Good catch, I didn’t realize that. If he indeed was not varying his cadence, the D would catch on pretty quickly.
Maybe, but lets support him until it becomes apparent he is not they guy. He is still very young and very talented.
I thought we'd be an 8-8 team that could go 6-10 or 7-9 if we caught some bad breaks or 9-7 or 10-6 if we didn't... Yesterday was a soul crusher for me and my expectations. It's only week 1 so I won't overreact, but we could very well be staring 1-5 or 0-6 in the face
How soon people forget that little tidbit. Sanchez had that great OL and receivers and he still threw 5 picks in a game against buffalo. No way is Sam even close to the level of terrible Sanchez was.
Darnold's biggest problems were the terrible play calling and the awful blocking. He didn't have his best game but the coaches did everything they could to put him in a position to fail when their job is to do the total opposite.
a predictable snap count has a direct effect on the performance of an offense line and the play calling
If you think the snap count was the problem you should stop watching football and start watching golf.
Oh...I'm supportive. I like the kid and hope he is the qb we've needed...just haven't seen enough to tag him.
