I'm reading some of his postgame comments. He made a dumb comment about how nobody is happy after a loss. A loss is a loss whether it's by one or 50. He doesn't get it. He doesn't realize how much trouble he's in. The Jets finally go out and hire a experienced HC. Right out of the gate they lose a SOJ heartbreaker in week 1 one for the ages and he thinks it's just another loss. He better find a way to beat Cleveland 'cause if they don't they're staring at 0-6 possibly worse right in the face.
Actually he's 100% right. Nobody is happy. Which is true. A loss is a loss. Which is true. I don't see any problem with any of his comments. What I do see though, is every Jets fan who didn't like Gase from the get go, taking every chance and exploiting it to make it seem like Gase was the wrong hire. Oh, and after one week LOL
I didn't get the impression that he meant this one wasn't important. I did get the impression that he wants everyone to know that no loss is okay. After Cleveland's showing tonight, I'm not sure whether to think they're ripe for a beat down, or concerned they're going to come back with a vengeance.
Are you sure in 5-10 years you'll still think a week 1 loss in a brand new system will be "one for the ages"? I mean it's your opinion so only you would know, but personally speaking I doubt I'll find any week 1 game one for the ages
The dumber thing is the Jets fans like me who didn’t like the hire but got sucked in by a slightly interesting, quirky personality and good preseason performances. He’s never been impressive to me. Hope he proves me wrong.
There should be a 2 day delay for any threads allowed after a game. First Darnold is a cheap version of Mark Sanchez. Now Gase just lost one for the ages and doesn't even realize! Lmao
Perfect response. People can blame Gase for everything, for the 4 points we left on the score board by a putrid kicker, or even the more disgusting OL performance by massive lack of talent. You can argue about play call selection but there is very little you can do with no time to throw and a QB that was off his game and running for his life.
Weird. And the next thing you know, we don't make the playoffs since 2010 and we win 5, 5 and 4 the last three years. It's like some posters know we suck or something.
Gase needs to be a steady hand here--we don't want another emotionally unstable HC. He needs to be level headed and get back to work, whether we lose by 5 or 50 or win by 5 or 50. Culture is about consistency. The issues here are very simple: 1) lack of depth at linebacker 2) lack of talent and depth at secondary 3) Poor design on offense with blocking / maybe chemistry? 4) Darnold missed too many throws today To reiterate, we did face face a top 5 defense easily this season, ran by a defensive minded headcoach. This wasn't going to be a layup for our offense.
Yea you’re right because if there’s one thing Jets’ history has shown us, it’s that initial loses like this never lead to disastrous seasons. Ever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Call naked bootlegs, screens and designed roll outs They may not work But this is the counter to poor OL play He did none I know it’s 1 Game but this is a red flag
I'll repeat: Gase has a VERY short leash with the fans. We've been asked to be patient for too long. Yeah, it's one game, but if they lose a few more in a row, the fans will be looking for scalps, beginning with Gase. He is not going to get the usual honeymoon of a new HC. The Johnson Boys waited too long to get rid of Macc and Bowles, and now there will be no grace period. Gase better be prepared for the heat.
The worst thing chris could do is listen to the fans. Fans is a big dumb animal and should not be catered to when it comes to personnel decisions. I point to the main board here as exhibit A
