Well about 3 of the papers today said Ramsey is likely to be cut this offseason since he is due $1.4 million and now he's behind Clemens.

It's about time. I'd trade him for some stamps at this point. Used even.

    From Insider:

Word is, the list of veteran players who are likely to be released by the Jets following this season has grown to include RB Kevan Barlow, CB David Barrett, ORT Anthony Clement, OL Adrian Jones, WR Justin McCareins, DT C.J. Mosley and QB Patrick Ramsey, among others.

Considering the amount that Barlow, Barrett and McCareins are making as backups, I am not surprised that they are on the chopping block.

Are there any sites that list next year's free agents?

  12. Interesting to see both Clement and Jones on this list. I wonder who they have in mind as a replacement...ed blanton?

Why would we cut Barrett? I know he isn't a shutdown corner, but he certainly plays good enough to keep around. I would be dissapointed to see him go.

wow. do you have a link for this (or is it from Insider?) generally, the cut predictions tend to be true.

we knew Jones would be in the doghouse after this season...

i'll admit, i'm kind of surprised to see Barrett on the list; although, i perpetually bash him while most come to his defense, usually, "he's been injured," despite his constant affirmation that he feels fine.

perhaps CB will wind up being a priority this Offseason afterall.

    cheers

I anticipate at least one of the first three picks to be used on an o-lineman. Justin Blalock would be a great pick in the first round in my estimation. He is versatile (RT and OG) and a bruiser. I am sure this would not be a very popular pick with many people calling for Marshawn Lynch (who has not declared yet anyway) or another "playmaker." But I think the team would really benefit from another high quality o-lineman.

who's Blanton? Practice squad guy or a soon-to-be Free Agent?

also, do you see us drafting a CB or trying to make a run at Samuel or Clements?

    cheers

Wow. I thought Clement held his own this season. We should at least keep him for depth. Look for a top draft pick spent for an RT (Maybe a 3rd rounder?)
Barrett isn't a bad corner, although he does have his days. But the amount of money we're paying him and the fact that he isn't our consistent starter is probably why he's going to be cut loose.

a lot of mediocre players makin a couple bucks...all the names seem about equal to the kinds of players that every other team will cut as well

Last year this time, all there was to talk about was drafting players. I can't get into the draft yet with the season still going and the Jets having a slim chance at the playoffs. I already feel the Jets will just take the best available player that falls to them, hopefully a RB, CB, DT, or OL.

ESPN should change the title from "Whispers" to "Screams From The Top of A Mountain" when it
    s dealing with the obvious.
