I think this couldn't possibly hurt? Just as a means to keep some stability with Sammy. I think McCown will make an excellent coach.
Oh so now you want McCown for HC? LOL I haven't followed Pederson's career but I'll assume he paid his dues as a assistant coach somewhere before becoming a HC. As of now I wouldn 't take the advice of a guy that never won more than eight games to show me how to get to the promised land. I call that the blind leading the blind.
I know that you are mostly here to troll and don’t have any interest in actual conversation, but where in this thread does anybody want him to be a head coach?
Because some made the dumb correlation between knowing football and how many wins someone had as a QB.
So another topic that you dont know a thing about but will troll iregardless. How many games did Belichick win as a player? Parcells? Gase? Tomlin? McVay? Caroll? Should I keep going? How about a long list of other HC's, OC's, DC's? Nothing says I have no clue more than thinking to be a good coach, a good teacher, means I had to have been a really successful player. Nothing
I'll assume the people you listed paid their dues before becoming what they now are. All I can go by is McLoser's W-L record as a player. What are his QUALIFICATIONS for becoming a 'special advisor' to my football team? Let him pay his dues someplace first. I don't know start him off as a scout or something like that see how he does there. Let him work his way up the ladder. As of right now he is utterly unqualified to be a 'special advisor' to my football team.
So which is it? Players who sucked as far as W&Ls cant be good coaches as you said or is OK if they go somewhere else first? Why they suck so what does paying ones dues have to do with it? Now you've covered yourself though And again, using the excuse of they should start their careers somewhere else means you close the doors to a lot of good coaches who never won as players and coached nowhere else to prove themselves.
the point is moot though right? (thank God) mcclown is heading to ESPN, no special advisor stuff. decision made. I don't get on the facebook much but I noticed the NY Jets posted "thanks for everything you did here" and a picture of mcclown on the day he retired. 5-11 as a starter here, but "thanks for everything"... this organization needs some higher standards

They paid him $10 million to backup in 2018. He went 0-3 got demolished in his first start of the season at home vs Buffalo.
