Mack may have only won us 1-2 more games last year( I see 4-5) he could easily have made the difference between a W or L) but you can't discount how many more games he would win this year and next as the team improved. Macks cap was $13.8 mill last year, 11.9 this year and 26.6 next year. ($38.5) this year and next compared to $19.781 and $27.5 mill ($48.281) for Mosley and Crowder. Significantly less money but would have provided a much greater impact. Would have gone a long way this year masking the hole at CB as well. The draft capital was just too much to part with though
Exactly and not only that, but good luck running the football on us because with Leonard Williams, Quinnen Williams (super pumped to see him anchor our line), C.J Mosley and Jamal Adams roaming the L.O.S it's not happening. You give this defense a true #1 superstar CB in Jalen Ramsey who as an FSU Seminoles fan I absolutely would love to have and our CB concerns now become a featured position with Jalen Ramsey setting the tone for our CB unit. And now; #33 Jamal Adams really gets to ROAM our entire secondary as an all out dog. And now a Trumaine Johnson becomes your #2 CB opposite of Ramsey? Hah. Now Marcus Maye as a FS gets to cheat a little bit more as more of a ball hawk; a trickling effect. I miss Revis and Cromartie days. I'd appreciate future days of Ramsey/Trumaine. I'd love to see both Jalen Ramsey & Jamal Adams trash talking within our secondary. Because one thing Revis never had... Was a Jamal Adams. Line up Ramsey/Adams and that's electric. Our loaded front 7 would feast off of that duo. Ramsey/Adams would create for one of the NFL's most lethal CB/S tandem ever witnessed. In reality I don't imagine it happening. So I just hope Trumaine can bounce back under Williams as D.C and become a decent #1 CB for us this year. Jalen Ramsey? For a 1st? Position of crisis? Sam Darnold on rookie deal? Jamal Adams screaming for more dogs? It's a no brainier for the Jets. Big loss for the Jaguars.
These things somethings have a way of working themselves out. When we were very thin at receiver a few years ago we found Robby as an option. Having open competition can sometimes yielding a diamond in the rough type of player.
I still see that tackle on clickbait bullshit "He thought he had an easy touchdown, what happened next will make your JAW DROP"
No chance he sticks around. Wesco is a solid blocker, younger, and has more potential to come around in the passing game.
6'6 262. Previous regime took him on as a project in 2016. And he's a decent blocker. Just never really materialized into anything especially useful
Lol another example is last year we desperately needed an edge rusher, then we got Luvu now and he is slowly developing into a solid role player. A guy like Luvu wouldn't get his break on a team with two good edge rushers. We just have to cycle through a lot of crap first.
You should watch all the KRs where Andre Roberts scored, come back to me and tell me what they see in Tomlinson. Him, Herndon, and Leggett were all key blockers on ST last year. I hate Tomlinson with a passion and he shouldn't be on the field on offense at all, but he does contribute on ST
Which is great and all... but you'd think they could find someone that can do that, and still have SOME value on offense?
