I'm not sure how to handle Bell in the pre-season. He needs to take some hits to get back into football, but you also don't want him to get hurt in a meaningless game, but also if you don't play him in any pre-season game he could instantly get hurt Week 1 vs the Bills. I think I would rotate him in and out a couple of series vs the Falcons and Saints. Rest him tonight and against the Eagles obviously.
As long as the first scripted play doesn't involve rolling out to his right and throwing a lob downfield across his body.
This is one of the things I never understand about American Football, in Soccer we use preseason friendlies to get fit or more precisely match fit and also shake the rust off, getting the feel for football again. American football have 4 friendlies where they try their hardest not to play any starters in, I understand the risk of injury but it is all part and parcel of the game, Man City just lost Sane to an ACL after a Liverpool play fouled him in the charity shield. It is also possible I said the same last off season as well lol
The risk of injury is way higher, plus football season is shorter, an injury that sits you for 4 months is practically done for the season whereas in soccer you can actually could come back in time to contribute.
Very true, so why have them at all then? If they are not for first teamers to really play then it seems a pointless exercise and those 2nd and third teamers are equally likely to get injured.
Greed 2 extra paid attendances and parking and concessions I’m going tonight and I’m glad no Bell Let him work into game shape when it counts By the way does anyone know is Sam is getting a series? Still going to game no matter what
