I remember there being a thread on the Jets 2007 Schedule a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's 100% legit (at this moment anyway), but it said the Jets are playing the Giants in the regular season. If they really are, anyone know when they will, and who will be the home team? I don't care how much I have to pay, but I am going to that game.
Yes, the Jets play the NFC East and are at the Giants next year. We don't know when because the dates and times won't be released until April. You can count on the Jets-Giants game being a regular 1:00 game -all of the previous Jets-Giants games have been and the NFL has stated before they will never schedule a Jets-Giants game for primetime, i.e. MNF....
hopefully it counts as a giants home game b/c there will be support for either team regardless of who's home game. It would be like the jets having 8 1/2 home games. Anyways the giants already got there 9 home games last year.
Probably because they are affraid not enough people outside of NY will watch the game. The Yankee vs. Mets world series had bad audiencs ratings...
I'm pretty sure it's a Giant home game, which is good for the Jets as a team (an extra sort of home game) but bad for the season ticket holders of the JEts.
Well if I recall correctly, the NFL was worried about fan behavior and possible riot conditions. At least that's what they were saying 10+ years ago when I saw the article. I don't think I agree with that. As another poster pointed out, I think ratings are a bigger issue. But there's got to be a legit reason, the Jets and Giants have played 10 times in the regular season and not once has it not been a 1:00 game. You would think at least once it would be prime-time....And yes the Giants are the home team vs. the Jets in '07
I've never heard this before. Interesting. Even if this is true, you would think if both teams were projected to have good seasons then scheduling a prime time game would be just as appealing to viewers as any other top teams meeting.
