I think for the most part, people are pretty consistent about Chad. Yeah, some go off the wall when he has a good game or bad game but defenders defend..but they fail to see that even when Chad has a very good stat day and the Jets win, those that just dont like him as a qb are still not impressed. They see it as being personal. Its really not for the most part. Its ability, talent and limitations. While he possess all of them, the limitations are what drive most of us to drink..heavily. Now many will say all qb's have limitations. While that may be true, Chads are rare in the NFL and are more commonly found with high school and college qb's then NFL qb's. Most NFL qb's have other problems but most can always, at least threaten, the entire field.
I didnt say they werent good. I like both players. What I am saying is that the limited amount of speed we have, does not give us the ability to stretch a defense. Your own post points that out. Those guys are making great plays, but almost without exception, IN TRAFFIC. Not running open down the field, (except in the Miami game).
It's easy enough to bring in a "burner" as a deep threat, although McCareins has been in that role this year. Of course he's almost incapable of getting open and is incapable of fighting for a ball. The point is with Chad at QB there really isn't a pressing need for this type of WR as he couldn't make the throws anyway. I would put money down that if a Jets WR was ever as open as Evans was on the TD yesterday the pass would've either been underthrown to the point the WR would have to come to a stop and be tackled after making the catch or the ball would've floated to the sidelines and the WR stepped out.
See thats where I see it differently. If the was taking a three step drop and heaving it, the wideout would catch the ball down the field in stride(much like the connection he used to make with moss. (Both of them AAMOF))
I think his arm is shot. It's funny you mention Moss because at the game they showed a couple of highlights from 03 and I was frankly shocked at the velocity on some of the balls. A tight spiral fired 15 yards downfield or so with almost no air under it. It's been so long since we've seen one of those I forgot what they looked like.
yea but we are talking about CFB with probably the most talant given WR ever in the MAC.. even ken dorsey looked awsome in cfb with the recievers he had he was throwing bombs to santana every other play.. dorsey arm in the nfl is comparable to chad if not worst.
You ALL need to climb off the freaking ledge. Pennington is not as bad as Exit 117 and the anti-Chad crowd make him out to be. Neither is he as good as others make him out to be. BUT, at this point in time, he gives this team the best chance to win, and that is indisputable.
It was dickhead move bringing Clemmens in with 1 minute left. The defense was just licking their chops. My guess is the mangini is pretty close to giving up on Chad. They have moved Clemmens up on the depth chart to 2nd. My guess is he will start 07. Although I would rather see him in next week.
untill/if we lose next week than chad can grab his towel and watch the game from the bench.. cause the best chance to win wont matter than.
Very few QBs ever have come back from 2 rotator cuff surgeries. Case in point was Bert Jones who used to have a great arm. Aren't you pro chad guys tired of the dink and dunk. I watched the Dallas game and marveled at Breez throwing it down the field. Chad's arm is shot period. You don't need a rocket arm, (remember Nagel) but jeez he can't throw it 25 yards. I like Ian Eagles description calling his passes "rainbows".
There is no way in the world I'm reading through ten pages of this, but has anyone realized that with poor protection you can't throw long? It's also why Chad was sacked and lost the ball twice. Chad had a rotten game, so did the coaching staff, so did the defense, so did the O-line and the running game. Anyone who wants to change QBs in mid-December at 7-6 with 3 games left knows absolutely nothing about the NFL.
Unless you are ready to throw the season away, you are correct. Chad does give the Jets the best chance to win. As miserable as I am watching him and his arm play the position, you have to wait out the year or until the season is over. Not sure if he is as bad as exit 117 or the antichaders feel he is. One thing is indisputable at this point. Chads limitations at the position are rare..very rare at the NFL level. His ablitly to complete high percentage passes is pretty remarkable...but his limitations concerning arm strength at the NFL level..are pretty remarkable too.
chad also got a sack and fumbled when he was tryna be mike vick.. but he recoverd that one so its ok i guess.
a 9-7 team aint making the playoffs in the afc.. like i said 1 more loss and it wont matter that chad give us the best chance to win.
