Frankly, I was stunned to learn that Mac froze out AG during pre draft meetings and then the draft and his reluctance to interact with others. Those things alone were enough to fire that ass not to mention his drafting and fighting with his hand picked personnel.

For me, what is more troubling is that it took CJ this long to identify the dysfunction... I mean WTF was he doing? Knowing what I know now about Mac I owe some of you posters an apology... you peg what a loser he was and is. Hope the next guy has his shit together...

 

Hiring the right guy would be the best decision the Jets ever made.

 

So what are you saying? I want to make sure I don't put words in your mouth. That Gase should not have been hired? I agree, but that train left the station already. So now what? That Macc shouldn't have been fired? Again, train left. That Gase shouldn't have been named ACTING GM? Okay, then who?

And keep in mind that whatever mistakes he made in Miami or before, Chris knew all about those and still though he was the best guy to hire. I don't agree, but then again, I wasn't part of the search committee or interview team. And past failure is not necessarily a prediction of future failure - see Bill Belichick.

Yeah seems like Macc was horrible at scouting and worst in dealing with people. The Johnsons couldn't have picked up on this alot earlier?

This is unacceptable and what we call “working in silos” - the worst kind of shit for team morale or efficiency. Only the weakest management I’ve ever seen prefers to work in silos because they have zero leadership skills
