Gase IS all the peripheral bullshit currently surrounding this team. We need someone to keep Gase in check until we inevitably fire him.
Look, I was not a fan of hiring Gase, and still wonder if he's the right guy, but there's a lot of stuff being attributed to him that I haven't seen any reliable sources for. It's true what they say about protecting your reputation because it follows you, but we have no proof that Gase came here looking to take over the GM spot. If anything, he said he didn't want both hats like he did in Miami. I do think that he went to Chris AFTER Macc tried to freeze him out, which is a good thing - it's what Bowles should've done 4 years ago. But calling this guy a megalomaniac and all the stuff is off base...unless you have some proof. I hope whoever they bring is is close to Gase and they can work together. Wouldn't that be refreshing, having the HC and GM on the same page? What a concept!
Totally agree. We get an offense minded coach...one that has a plan & knows the players needed to implement it, and we shit all over it....before training camp even begins. Gase is determined to change the losing culture...on the field and off. All the turmoil is being propagated by everybody but him.
Gase has the potential to take us from mediocrity to utter embarrassment. Turmoil seems to follow him, and it's already begun here. I don't see this as a positive change. My only remaining hope is CJ realizing he should not allow Gase to choose the GM, and to keep him confined to just coaching. If he acts up, fire him and let Gregg Williams run with it.
Judging by the Miami Experiment and what we've seen here the last few months the only one fitting that requirement would be...Adam Gase.
First, what sources do you have that show that Gase was responsible for Getting Macc fired. Even if he complained to Chris, if Macc had not done anything wrong, he wouldn't have been fired. But the fact is that Chris finally saw the mess that Macc had made, between his mediocre drafting, several MAJOR draft mistakes (Hack, Devon Smith, Darron Lee), his lack of listening to the HC for player acquisitions, and his in-fighting with Heimerdinger, as well as his habit of sequestering himself in his office and not communicating/interacting with other staff. These are all excellent reasons for firing him, none of which were created by Gase, so it seems you're simply targeting Gase with your allegations and no facts. That Gase DID complain to Chris is a GOOD thing, as it finally opened Chris's eyes, something that Bowles should've done long ago. Despite all this, I'm sure you're going to stick with your "Macc was great" meme, and continue to blame everyone but him, but ESPECIALLY Gase, for his own demise.
First, I have made no claims that Gase was responsible for MacCagnan's firing. Why should I react to your strawman? Second, I have made no claims that MacCagnan was great, meme or otherwise. If you just feel a need to show your support for Gase you can do it without putting words in anyone else's mouth. On the other hand if you disagree with something I have actually stated here feel free to make a point that addresses what I have written.
When all is said and done , Gase will be gone based on his Record.of Ws or Ls imo I think Chris J knew all about his antics and his personality before he chose him over other candidates ..he also was impressed with his football knowledge and the ability to Coach QBs to their potential He has a strong vision of what he wants done with the team to succeed ..is Turmoil good or bad? That depends what the turmoil produces I don't need Greg Williams as my Fail Safe ...no..not yet If Gase acts up the Team all the way to the Playoffs Iam fine with that
If I misinterpreted what you said: "Judging by the Miami Experiment and what we've seen here the last few months the only one fitting that requirement would be...Adam Gase." as implying that Gase's "Miami Experiment" where he was in sole control was what he had engineered here, then I apologize. But if I was wrong, then what did you mean by that? And yes, you've defended Macc relentlessly, perhaps "great" was a misattribution, but not by much. As to supporting Gase, I'm simply saying let's give things a chance to play out. I've expressed my doubts about him from the beginning, but the situation "is what it is" as Tony Soprano would say. He may well fuck things up, but he hasn't yet. OTOH, Macc DID fuck things up, which is why he's gone.
It's really very simple. Gase failed as head coach in Miami and also failed as a consensus builder, a trait necessary for a GM, by an inability to get along and communicate with others in the organization from players to the owner. Now that you have backtracked on your claims that I said MacCagnan was great it should be easy to prove I have "relentlessly" defended him. Disagreeing that he has totally fucked up is not the same thing. I would note that even though the post that you have referred to spoke only of Gase, you for some reason continue to bring MacCagnan into it, something I have not. I can name a hundred bad coaches and GMs but that does not make Gase one iota better than he is.
