I don't think we can cut or trade Bell until 2021 based on his contract? Pretty sure it would cost as a fortune in dead cap.
Gase said last week he got on well with Mac bar one tiny disagreement. I don't think he was telling the whole truth there, do you?
Miami has been a shit show since Ross bought out Huizenga 10 years ago. Gase was on point in telling the owner to f off.
Lol not sure its quite that dramatic. I will say this, if Mehta was even remotely accurate in his whole behind the scenes bullshit, then gase is in fact going to rupture. He didn't want to be seen on camera at the draft because he was mad at Mike. That's child shit, man. The season hasn't even started yet. Wait until adversity strikes. He’s definitely still very connected. ESPN or not. It would be a mistake to assume just because he’s not on SportsCenfer anymore that he lost all the relationships he built up in his 40 years in the biz...
Totally. As evidenced by all the news he’s been breaking on his local radio show the last few years...
Just wondering why we can’t assume he’s nowhere near as plugged in as he used to be as a national reporter opposed to as a local Seattle radio host. Also this isn’t a report.
This would be moronic...Bell is still a top tier RB so unless we got something crazy it would be a foolish move I can understand Gase not wanting to pay top dollar for any RB but now that he’s here it’s a good thing on the field
LOL! Yeah those beat writers are just milking this. That would definitely be a "quit the team" moment for many many fans.
Here's what I don't understand - if they wanted to trade him, wouldn't the salary that goes with the contract he just signed go with him? And if so, what team would be willing to pay that since no one else besides the Jets bid for him? I suppose the Jets could eat part of his salary, but then that would count against their cap, right? And so they would be losing cap space and getting absolutely nothing in return. If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure somebody here will correct me, but if not, this idea makes no sense.
I just love the 'Rumour Season' - it's the same here in Blighty. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
According to over the cap a post June first trade is 2,000,000 in dead money with a $7,000,000 in cap savings this year. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/new-york-jets/
Why are we treating this like anything other than John Clayton giving his opinion? He never even claims that he’s heard rumblings or sources are telling him something. It’s an old guy giving his opinion on a radio show in Seattle.
