I don't think anyone doubts Pennington was awful. He was absolutely awful. #1 reason we lost? Definitely not. Pin that one on the defense. Even without those fumbles, we were going to lose.
hard to win when your qb makes 3 turnovers almost 4.. chad has no midle ground its ethier real good or real bad. but his inteceptions are starting to get out of hand. 15 interceptions is crazy for a big time qb. with 3 games to go pennigton could easily hit 20 ints this year.
in week 3.. wasnt that whitner and simpsons 1st start . plus they were missing spikes. that d was still gelling.
3rd&15 I agree with you 100%. Penny is not going to bring us a SB or even an 8-8 finish. I say we beat barely Oakland and that's it! We looked like shit, pussy ass dink and dunk passes do you no good. His noodle arm needs to be holding a clipboard!! Good QB's beat shitty teams great QB's beat great defenses and Penny is almost a good QB. On that note, I don;t think Clemens is the answer either, he looked confused and totally unprepared. I mean come on, it's garbage time, you need to at least complete a few passes for huge chunks of yards!! He couldn't even set his feet. If anyone watched the Dal vs. NO game, man we need a Drew Breese type of Veteran that takes control of the field and keeps defenses off balance.
I don't know. The defense didn't play that much worse then they did the first time the Jets played the Bills. Game 1 was 475 yards on 73 plays at 5.5 per rush and 7.3 per pass. Yesterday was 318 yards on 52 plays at 5.1 per rush and 8.0 per pass. The difference was when the Jets went down by 4 in this game Pennington self destructed and handed the Bills a TD. He was also unable to capitalize on the Losman fumble where the Jets started on the 20 or so. Better play from the offense and Losman's got to drop back to pass more then 15 times and I think the Jets get some pressure on him and he makes another mistake or two.
I can't believe the board is putting the blame soley on Chad. The defense gave up not 1, but 2 very big plays. McGahee owned us......AGAIN!!!!!!!!! The guy beat us even while puking. That does not say much for our D does it. D'Brick did not have a good game; 2 or 3 of CHad's mishaps can be attributed to a breakdown in D'Brick's blocking or lack thereof. Bottom line: I said last week that this is where we find out where we are as a team. Truth - we are not as good as we think. Good teams do not lose games like that when the rest of the league serves up a bonus win situation - meaning, had we won yesterday, we would have been in complete control of the playoff hunt. The Jets love to tease, don't they. If Champ chimes in today and is quite frank about what happened, I can not blame him at all. Our team is simply not ready for the playoffs. Even if we win out the last 3 games, which I do not think we will, we may not make it at 10-6. That's the way it may fall this year. We are just a few good players short of having a really good team.
agree on that clemens looked awful. hike.. run to the right... sacked.. lol that was clemens playbook
He didn't play all that well about Buffalo in Week 3. He did avoid costly turnovers though, something he has been unable to do in his most recent batch of bad games. And it's that inability to avoid turnovers that has turned him from a borderline "game manager" QB into backup quality.
I disagree. Take away the yardage from the McGahee run and the pass to the wide open receiver and the D was not far off from being acceptable. The D did not have a good day yesterday because of the 2 or 3 huge plays they gave up
HAHA! you forgot the 1/2 step back and hunch over cuz you know you're going to get hit. Oh yeah and another great move was sliding at the original line of scrimmage and in bounds no less to keep the clock running, (I know I know, the original line of scrimmage marker looks a lot like the first down marker) HAHA. Yeah, I have no warm feeling about our future at QB, het maybe Vinny will play another year after he gets released by the Pats! Another thing I noticed no one comment on, why is JETS spelled wrong in the thread header. Haven't they ever heard J-E-T-S and not J-E-S-T, oh well!!
If you're primarily blaming Chad, get your head examined. Both lines got schooled and he was pressured all day long. And the coaching wasn't much to write home about either.
But who's the leader of the team? Chad is so he should have stepped up, if he can't (which it sure looks that way) than it's time for a change!!
1 TD scored and we are a pass happy team. thats why i blame chad but i guess thats a improvement considering his bears game.
