eh not a fan of that chart. who cares if someone got hurt or suspended for a coupe of games. that's not on the GM. lee, shell, and maybe were all great picks but now discounted as bad. leo is also a probowler. not sure what "god" for darnold is supposed to mean lol on top of that 0 credit for robby who he signed as an UDFA. then you have to ake his numbers and compare against the average to see how he stacks up
GREAT MOVE. This guy could NOT draft players. He was awful if you take away a few lucky 1st picks that fell in his lap. The Jets could have sat and waited until he fucked up again, or moved on. Timing is irrelevant as long as they got rid of the right guy. I happen to think Gase is the better of the 2 and has the potential to be a long term solution on this team. McCagnan was almost as bad as Idzik. God riddance.
Can someone explain how I am hearing Michael Kay rip the Jets on 98.7 FM -- I presume it's LIVE, right ? -- and he's also doing the Yankee game on YES ??
I think the timing will allow Gase, as acting GM, to take his pick of the June roster purges. It may not be a great pool available but it allows him to round out the team somewhat before the next GM comes on board. What I don’t get is if Gase complained about the FA contract dollars (not the personnel) to CJ and Mac why would they ignore Gase and let Mac do as he pleased only to fire him later? CJ should have taken charge, ordered Mac to do xyz Then fire him before the draft (keeping scouts until after) and allow Gase more say in the draft if they truly believe in Gase? CJ is proving to be more dysfunctional than Woody
I said your posts scenario makes it sounds like he backstabbed him. Currently acting GM = head power man, owners discounted obviously.
Seems like the jets are trying to bring in fresh people with an eye to get everyone on the same page from gm all the way down to coaches.
Bobby Wagner is the only guy I'd rather have. I also didn't read anything about Gase not wanting Mosley, only Bell.
Also it makes sense to have everyone on the same page from the owner down and it’s quite obvious that wasn’t happening with Mac as gm
Said this in the 'hot seat' thread - Macc should have been fired mid-season last year so that the new GM could have diligent prep time for draft & FA. He wasn't, so then certainly he should have been fired at seasons end alongside Bowles, right? Wrong. To fire him in the middle of May is a real foul move by Christopher Johnson.
Might as well fire Gase and just reset yet again. No point in letting this play out any further imo. This organization is a wreck.
Jesus, really, there is barely anybody on here that agrees with anybody else about anything, can you imagine the meetings for draft night or free agency, it would be a full-scale fight after 15 minutes.
tannebaum was the personnel guy in Miami the did best us what 6 times in a row and has more wins against the patriots in past three yrs then we have in what 8 yrs?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...gase-disagreed-with-price-tag-for-bell-mosley I would probably take Luke Kuechly and Deion Jones over him. Probably Darius Leonard too. No disrespect to Mosley, he's a great player.
He was not the personnel guy. He handled the cap management/ finances.Their current GM was the personnel guy under that structure
