cant agree with you more. McGahee went apeshit on us in practically 2 quarters of football. Losman was able to throw on us. We had no pass protection. The Bills were getting to Penny left and right. We sucked on every phase except kick returns. Penny wasnt out there defending the pass or running up to try and stop McGahee. Penny played bad, but so did the entire team. Stop making Penny the scape goat.

Out of respect to Pennington's last game as a starter in Giants Stadium for the Jets I won't bash him too badly this week, other then to say he cost the Jets 21 points today.

    Are the Chad Lovers blind

The man gave up 21 points today and did not do anything to lead us.

No, this is a stupid post. The man lead us to a damn winning record, when everyone was saying we would be lucky to win 4 games this year.

Exactly. The three biggest plays in the game were the fault of both the offense and defense--the McGahee run, the Evans catch, and the INT return.

    Highly doubtful.

And he didn't cost the team 21 points.

His INT for a TD was his fault.

The rest cannot be pinned on him alone.

A winning record is not the Super Bowl, and Pennington will NEVER be able to get the Jets to a Super Bowl. NEVER. If he does, then I'll never watch a Jets game EVER again, and you can mark my words on it. I'm confident enough to say it because CHAD PENNINGTON WILL NEVER EVER LEAD THE JETS TO A SUPER BOWL.

Clemens should start Sunday but he won't. I'm a Pennington fan, always have been and always will, but bash him in his bad games. And after the Bears game I said one more bad game and he should be benched.

Despite the Jets still being in the wild card hunt, I say start Clemens. Leinart and Young have looked exceptional, Cutler has had some bad bumps but shows flashes...

We have to see what the Jets have in Clemens, and their are some pretty solid defenses ahead of the Jets, so put him in there.

Are you Chad lovers really this ignorant?

I mean, he's a great leader off the field. He has great characteristics. Probably a nice guy, too. Intelligent, off the field.

All of that is fine and dandy...

    IT DOESN'T WIN YOU GAMES.

He may be intelligent off the field, I.E. the story with him, Mangini, and Clemens on the records of the other wildcard teams. It's great that he taught that. It's great that he looks towards the next game only.

    IT DOESN'T WIN YOU GAMES.

He's smart off the field. HE'S NOT SMART ON THE FIELD. He makes horrible decisions. He floats his passes. He looks for the checkdown receivers first.

    IT DOESN'T WIN YOU GAMES.

Maybe his bad passing plays are Schottenheimer's fault. Maybe Schottenheimer doesn't open up the playbook because he knows the extreme limitations of Chad's arm.

Or, maybe, Chad wants to hit those checkdown receivers. I wouldn't know why, but he's been doing it for years.

THESE CHARACTERISTICS DON'T WIN YOU GAMES.

Chad Pennington doesn't perform well enough to win games that often.

Chad Pennington performs well enough to not lose.

Chad Pennington may be able to lead your team a .500 + record or maybe even a playoff appearance.

But, Chad Pennington isn't the quarterback that leads you to a Super Bowl victory.

Of course, I still think he should QB it out the rest of the way because he gives us the best chance to win now, but for the future, Chad Pennington should NOT be on the Jets radar.

Maybe Kellen Clemens is the answer for the Jets future. Maybe not. But it sure as hell isn't Chad Pennington, and I can guaran-damn-tee it.

You can go ahead and continue to root for .500+ seasons where we make the playoffs, maybe, and exit the playoffs early. It's a loser's and Jets' mentality. I'll continue to root for Super Bowls.

The packers comment was meant to be past tense, as in everyone does well against the packers. I never said he lost the game. I said he sucked, which isn't the same. I do not think Chad is a good QB and i have felt that way since the day he was drafted. I'm sick of hearing how good he is, especially when days like this occur. When it matters, he's awful.

To respond on behalf of Exit 117 when JI2004 called him out for not bitching last week, you can't bitch when nothing's going wrong. That doesn't make any sense. Yes, Chad played well last week but you didn't find Exit 117 saying "OH MY GOD, CHAD'S THE BEST QB EVER!" That just means he played well enough for Exit to not say anything bad about Chad. To argue that he sucks after the Packers game would have been dumb. No one's going to listen no matter how right he is.

Chad's not the answer anymore. Apparently neither is Allen Iverson, but that's a different story.

the fact is he has too many sub-par games. a good QB may have a few stinkers but he has had too many stinkers this season. he does a lot of good things but he will never take this team to the big show. next year, cut bait, there is no point in our jogging in place. havilng said that, the whole team stunk today.

Okay, so who will lead us to the big show, then? The Jets have to make do with what they have...Clemens sure as hell isn't ready, and Ramsey would be an even bigger disaster. Pennington may not be the future for the franchise, but in most cases, he's been better for the team than not. Right now, there's no better option.

I agree. Let's face it. Chad's arm is shot. You don't need to have a rocket arm like Elway, but fuck, he can't throw the ball more than 20 yards. They are all floaters. I can run to the Frig and get a beer before the ball gets to the receiver. As for all of you against Clemens, wtf? The guy was highly rated out of the draft and some analysts said he was a steal at the spot he was taken. His only drawback might be his hieght. Please enough with Chad. We loose 33% of our plays because of his arm.

I don't know. I'm not a scout. I don't go to Jets practices. I don't have their game tapes and film from colleges, etc. I didn't say Clemens was the answer. I know Ramsey is a worse option than Pennington. And, I said MULTIPLE TIMES, that Chad Pennington IS the answer right now. But, for the future, he ISN'T, and he is not the quarterback that will ever, ever get us a Lombardi trophy.

This rant by you exit is way too premature. I for one had more expectations than alot of people on this forum but after the good season we have had with our new Jets team I would think you should have more patience.
