Are early rankings out yet? Will he go in Top 10 like past years? Has there ever been a Jet gone in Top 10 in last say 30 years? Lol
Curtis Martin was probably last top 10 guy......maybe Thomas Jones for a year. But yeah Bell is a lock for a top 5 pick. The offense is going to go through him, kind of like it did with Curtis Martin. Lots of rushes, lots of catches, lots of opportunity, and no one really taking away too many of his snaps. If I get the chance, I'd definitely draft.
I'd assume he'd fall in most drafts to late first round, maybe early second. Regarding top Jets picks in previous years, I do remember that in 2010, Yahoo had Shonn Greene ranked around #10 overall, under the assumption he'd pick up where Thomas Jones left off. And he was coming off a strong performance in the playoffs. Ended up a big disappointment as far as fantasy goes, since he split heavily with LT.
He'll be my first pick for sure if given the opportunity. I feel he'll be a top 3-5 pick outside of the QB position. Fantasy #'s wise I think he can set career highs we're a young offense and don't have a Ben just yet, nor an Antonio Brown therefore Bell will be a focal point of our entire offensive attack. On the flip side because of Bell and so much attention surrounding him I feel a player like Robby Anderson could become a big time steal with soon to be a lot more one on one opportunities deep. But yes I feel Bell will be selected as a top 1-2 RB and one who can PPR you to victory. And RBs are a must in FF.
top picks are always RBs and these days skewed towards PPR. My early impressions is barkely is number 1, gurley is 2 (health dependent) then 3-8 is going to be zeke, bell, kamara, gorden, conner and mccfrrey. 9-10 is going to be mixon and cook but they could fall to the 2nd round for someone reahcing for a QR instead. the 3-8 guys are pretty similar so i'd love to pick 8-9 personally (someone will take a WR) and then grab a WR on the way back. this site https://www.thefantasyfootballers.com/articles/fantasy-football-early-top-10-rb-rankings-for-2019/ has bell at 10 this site http://www.sportingnews.com/us/fant...-back-sleepers-tiers/s0d9eo0zezw1dhufy2o8amlr has bell at 5 it's been a long time since the jets have had a top 10 player in fantasy. I've been playing FF for about 15 years and i've never drafted a jet in the 1st round or even remember seeing one drafted in the 1st round. This year though i'm sure bell will be but i don't expect him to be as good as he as fantasy wise in Pitt.
Bell is a second-tier fantasy back, i.e. top 10 but probably not top 5. He was a first-tier back in Pittsburgh, but he missed a year and is going from an elite to a below-average OL. So I'd put him in the same category as guys like Alvin Kamara and Melvin Gordon, just below guys like Ezekiel Elliott and Saquon Barkley.
Kamara, Gordon, Bell, Elliott, Barkley are all tier 1 to me.....maybe even McCaffery and Gurley (pending health). Gotta come away with one of those guys in round 1. Last year I was lucky enough to land both Kamara and McCaffery, and had a great run. I do agree that switching teams, the year off, and less overall offensive talent are strikes on Bell. A strong camp and preseason, which I expect he'll have, would go a long way to alleviate those concerns.
Gurley is definitely Tier 1 too along with Elliott and Barkley. Bell, Kamara, Gordon and McCaffrey right behind for fantasy purposes.
Not sure where he will be ranked, but I doubt I would take Bell in the 1st Round. He was out of the league for a year, on a new Jets team that we have no idea how the offense will look under Gase, and there are just better options like Barkley, Zeke, McCaffrey, Kamara, and Gurley. Depends on your league. Some will have Mahomes and Rodgers in the 1st Round, Julio Jones, Devante Adams, OBJ, Juju, Hopkins, at WR, etc. If I had to guess, Belll will be late 1st Round or early 2nd Round though, which is really high for a Jets player.
Those 5 I named I believe will be the top 5 off the board, with maybe Gurley getting back there as well. There's not too much separating them for me at this point, which is why I've got them all grouped together for now. Once the preseason evolves a little more I may adjust.
What FF league do you play, nobody drafts a QB in the 1st or 2nd round in the one I play, due to the fact that in an 8-10 team league there are plenty of QB's to go around, get your top RB and WR's in first then you think about other positions. I know this is a mock example but it isn't far from the mark in the 8 years I have been playing FF, Mahomes the first QB off the board round 4. http://www.nfl.com/fantasyfootball/...anos-early-2019-five-round-fantasy-mock-draft Bell goes 7th pick in the first round and that would be about right imo, I also agree about Anderson but then I have been waiting for a 1000 yarder for two seasons, my faith remains strong and hope Gase remembers he has a long option and doesn't just dink and dunk to Bell and Crowder all game
One league I play in awards Player of the Week ($25) and Team of the Week ($50). Because QB's have the ability to score most total points per week, we see "Elite QBs" go very early.
I am terrified of Gurley. Guy turned into a ghost. Bell would be a good value in the mid to late first round of a traditional snake draft. I am in a auction league so it is harder to predict how others will value him. My guess is he will require big money.
Would you take him over Gurley? I think I would, with the news of his arthritic knee, I feel they will split more carries with CJ Anderson this season with the idea that Gurley will be more fresh for the post-season
Doesn't really matter what he was ranked those years. Different team, different year. Just because a player is ranked top 3 those years doesn't mean they are automatically ranked the same afterward.
