Interesting, so you were there in Macc's office when he was negotiating with the Saints for Teddy?

  2. Mccoy can play the 5 technique bc he makes up for alittle size w his get off, heavy hands & surge. He’d also provide scheme flexibility for Gregg Williams to do alot of 1 gap/3T stuff.

I think hes still a top end player if used right & i think Williams would be up for it. A rotation of LW/Anderson/Mccoy/Sheppard would be damn good.I also love the leadership he brings.

If they take Lee & throw in a pick im all for it.Perhaps tampa would eat a portion of Mccoy’s salary or we could convert a portion of his salary to a signing bonus & create something more managable.

See now how are we supposed to be nice to this guy when he’s saying things like this?

Eh, hard pass. If we are really looking for interior line help we can draft Williams and keep the cap space.

Help clear cap space for TB for an older, more expensive drop in production (w/Bosa/Williams/Allen sitting there at #3?). Nope thx. Save your gunpowder.

McCoy is a good player, but I think the Jets could really allocate that money elsewhere. The depth overall on the roster is lacking. I think Henry Anderson has that position has 5 technique locked down, he played well for us last year. We need production from Sheppard IMO. But again, do like McCoy, but that would require one hell of a contract restructure.

I'd prefer just giving them Lee for a 3rd and leave McCoy and his big contract out of it. But I'm guessing TB wouldn't give that much straight up for Lee alone, hence the "sweetener" of the Jets taking on an older player with a fat contract. On balance I don't like it. McCoy isn't going to be a difference-maker on this team. If they really want an interior DL then just take Q. Williams at #3, but again, I'm not on favor of that either.

    I say pass.

Good point..certainly could have tried that

I was considering TB not as a backup but someone who could be a starter on a number of Teams

The Saints must have offered him a bundle to stay on with them another Season

$7.25 million guaranteed, with the cap hit spread over three seasons. Unless Brees gets hurt in 2019 I don't see how he'll be able to get serious starter money in 2020 after having played almost nothing for three seasons.

Bridgewater isn’t a starter and Mac did a fantastic job getting a third for him. That’s about all there is to it.

I would take McCoy along with a pick in a straight salary dump but no way I’m doing this trade with Lee included. We already have enough invested in 3/4 DE types, don’t need another aging expensive one.

With Williamson and Mosely signed Lee should be shipped off soon. I would take a MetLife beer, hotdog for him in a trade.

While I agree, I’m not taking on a big contract to move him. In a deal that makes sense sure, but don’t handcuff the teams cap just to move him.

Congratulations. You seem to have discovered something that few here have - just because it's on the internet doesn't mean there is anything of a factual nature behind it.

In this case a) It is not an article, it is an opinion piece and b) It is "out of Columbus, Ohio," not Tampa. It was not written by anyone claiming any ties to the Bucs, geographic or otherwise or any particular expertise in football or the business of football. It was written by a guy whose real job is finding housing for the homeless who likes to go hiking with his wife and puppy and play video games. Maybe he got enough money for this hack job for a bag of dog food and a coupon for a used video from Game Stop.

  19. The name of the column is “the pewter plank” its a bucs column.

    1.Jets have a history of making trades w tampa.See keyshawn & Revis.that fake news?

    2. Darron Lee is on the trade block after a drug suspension & the team adding 2 other highly regarded Mikes over the last 2 offseasons. Are you still awaiting official confirmation??

3.Todd Bowles is now Tampa’s defensive coordinator & is familiar w lee.Did i make this up too?

4.The bucs need a Mike linebacker after losing Kwon Alexander.MORE fake news?

5.My topic said POTENTIAL trade. Not “trade talks” not that the teams are “closing in” not “jets trade Lee to Tampa”.POTENTIAL.Do you have a problem w that word? Not clear enough for you?

It is PATHETIC that i have to explain the validity of my post but id love you & others retort of everything thats wrong w it.Maybe cause you guys didnt post it first?

The last few times ive created a topic theres been bitching & nitpicking for basically any reason folks can find..and frankly its the same people over & over again. And Im not alone.

Ive had ENOUGH of the forum police who feel its fine to create topics on their own accord..but any original idea or potential news worth creating a new thread by someone else is criticized.is it an ego thing? Who knows but sure seems that way.

It was not long ago when new threads were started multiple times a day. Now if you fucking fart the wrong way or dont have the absolutely perfect phrasing in the topic folks wanna ban you & insinuate that its fake news.

Its a god damn football message board w a significant number of posters. I didnt know a formal class was needed on posting original ideas or scenarios in the OFFSEASON. If folks are that anal & sensitive i guess start having folks submit original ideas to the MOD’s for a formal evaluation for OT validity & eventual posting.

You guys win.Im not posting anymore original topics.and sure others feel the same way. Clearly only a select few are worthy of that distinction.

To the Admin..this does not include you.You guys have a hard job & do it very well. But the forum police can kiss my ass. Maybe the rest of us should start bitching & nitpicking all your OTs just as well.
