I am going to go with the Dolphins because it is a game we should win, & it will give Bell time to shake the rust off. There will be some growing pains with the new CS so why not have us VS. a team that we should beat. Then we would be at our best when we have to face better quality teams. Starting the year with a win will also start the season in a positive way. My guess is it will probably be Browns due to the Darnold/ Mayfield hype.
Give me the cheats. When Belichick has no film to game plan against, they are a different team. Added bonus is enjoying the empty owners box, which will keep getting shown.
Have to go with home v the dolphins. Pushes the road game down the calendar so we avoid the September heat down there.
There's a reason that the first few weeks of the season are the toughest weeks to pick winners; no team has completely settled into their new lineups and plans and no team knows what to expect from their opponents' new schemes. New England, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Dallas would be fine, especially the ones on the road.
We've had home-openers against the Browns multiple times in recent years. Wouldn't surprise me if it happens again. I wouldn't be so opposed to SNF @ NE since they are hosting. Get the road trip to Foxborough out of the way early. I'm cool with Miami again tho. Vs Fitz and we *should* be able to handle 'em.
At home, or there? I like this AT HOME because we will have plenty of juice in the building for Le'Veon's debut, and also for the reasons you mention. Don't forget the Pats often start off slow.
I think the Browns game may be a MNF or other primetime event possibly later in the season. I'm pretty sure Jets will open at home if it's true the Giants will be playing at NE on the first SNF. I'm gonna say it will be either Miami or Pittsburgh.....
Id love to open against cleveland at home. With all the hype theyve been getting it would be awesome to beat them. Wouldnt mind watching sam outduel mayfield as well
This is the 100th year of the Bears-Packers rivalry which is why the league has them kicking off the season. As far as I know the SB champ has always played the 1st game until now.
