I'd be fine with that too but your mention of those numbers reminds me that from recent Nike productions and comments about Oregon-like numbers I believe they will try way too hard to add some kind of winglet or fin to the numbers. And it will look like they tried way too hard. I would like to see real wings added to the shoes so every Jet player can move like mercury!
Love these. Maybe it’s the photo or my phone, but the white looks almost metallic, and it made me realize that silver and green is a freakin’ awesome color combo. All this time I’ve been hung up on gold...who knew!
I like some and figured this would be the best place to post this. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Those look great. A logo tweak, lighter green, and white or gray facemask is all that is needed. Any bigger change than that should only be for an alternate. That way if they fuck it up, they can drop the alternate. Or conversely, if the alternate is crazy well received, keep using it more and more. It makes me nervous that they are locking in for 3-5 years on some crazy re-design led by Nike, not seen by any actual fans. That has never ended well.
Well these things are actually focus grouped. I think all franchises do this. The Jets have used a focus group company out in Fort Lee for years. I was called in to help them with marketing the new stadium back in 2009. Thing is though they usually have a sample of like maybe 20 fans ages 18-60. But they Jet do and would have an idea of what the fans want. Ownership ultimately has final say but the fact that it is a lighter green tells me they've listened at least to some extent
Not shooting the messenger but those are hideous. They look like a combination of an apron that you'd put on to grill burgers in the Summer in your backyard and kid's feetie pajamas. Only the Jets could have invented the latest craze: aprojamas. Grill while chillin' without missing a beat!
I still think they're pretty cool.. I'm not into the black helmet but I like the design on the uniform...it's different. Maybe the cleats can be made to look like a continuation of that design to really give it that "feety" feel
One thing I noticed in all these "examples" is that while some of these people are great with photoshop, they're definitely not designers. logo handling is a bit lazy and "off the mark", but could work with some tweaks and additions....Probably most potential so far...... balance the "J" with the "S" and maybe add a NYC reference in there and you could have a winner if they want to go this route..... just NEVER Green with green pants but to be honest, shouldnt they be doing something "new" vs a rehash of the past?
After seeing the Bucs, Titans, etc uniforms, the people working for Nike aren't good designers either.
Ha, no argument.... but I was more referencing these "logos" I've been seeing. (thankfully Nike doesnt handle those)
totally agree......unfortunately its not going to look anywhere near this good they keep throwing around "total rebrand" and "new colors" and shit, which i think is what is making this board very nervous
why do they need new colors? Green and white is a great combo and because the Eagles have done the cliche of adding black the Jets are the only team with such a combo, which makes it even better
I'm with you, green and white (hunter or kelly green) works for me but, like many others said on here already, its for profit purposes. They will add an accent color (black or gunmetal) and sell all sorts of gear with all different combos of the colors regardless of jerseys.
