Waiting for the market to settle since he has multiple suitors. Mac might need to go deeper than he wanted to but his mantra is "fill needs in FA and draft BPA." Well....C is a huge gaping hole of a need and there aren't many good options. Pay the man.
I read an article a week or two ago. (I think it was Costello in the Post). It was about how Bowles and how he couldn't identfy players for Mac. Clearly Williams and Gase have identified their type of players. If you give a GM a clear idea of what you want you get that. Clearly Mac, Gase and Williams identified their type of players and now they are using the money they have to complete that. Lets hope the draft goes the same way.
Yeah, big difference though: we have a franchise QB this time around. Also, 2015 we brought back Revis and Cromartie’s ancient asses. These guys are in their primes, all of them are below their 30’s except for Osemele. Jamison is 25, Mosley is 26, Barr’s 26 too.
As are the rest of our receivers and QB. Seems like it’s starting to make sense now. Mac is finally starting his run.
As a Mac-basher, I have very mixed feeling. I hope he focuses on building a team and avoids chasing divas. We will certainly have a better roster next year than this past one But keep in mind we're signing all of these FAs because our drafting as a whole has royally sucked. We're now paying premiums in FA market Reportedly we had to really outpay Ravens for CJ Mosley because he understandably wanted to stay with a winning franchise; Also supposedly Paradis is doing the same shit now with the Broncos. There are reports we were the last team standing and Paradis's people went back to the Broncos . As a fan, my fingers are crossed that these players turn out to be more like Avery Williamson than Kirk Cousins (dodged a bullet), Trumaine Johnson (so far), Wilk, Revis -- i.e., his FA record also kind of sucks. Hopefully either the coaches or other talented eyes are telling him precisely the types of players and personalities they want
We are spending money on FA because he sucked a drafting players. 17 million a year on Mosley because he busted on Darron Lee etc. etc.. This is the same off season as 2015, only difference is a potential franchise QB is going into his 2nd season and could explode to stardom.
Throwing money around is one thing, and he's doing it pretty well this offseason. But the big money role is drafting so when all these big name guys are gone and Darnold needs to be paid, the Jets dont miss a beat
Go look at what I have posted = I DO NOT luv mac and I have not liked much of what he has done the past 4 years but thus far in FA it is hard to argue with so far in 2019 he has done a good job but there is a long way to go the team still has holes
TBH Its amazing how his job performance has dramatically improved since avoiding the Turk the end of last Season Plus, I really hope all the big names pan out..we are giving Barr 14 mil per year >>>dont want another Trumain Johnson I guess the same can be said from a headcase like L Bell but I still want him here
Yeah it's probably unecesasry. But our fans have done nothing but RIP HIM TO SHREDS while he spent 2 years clearing cap to make moves which somehow people didn't get. So he deserves this thread IMO. And why I posted it.
