    Baloney.

With $100 million in cap space they could completely makeover this defense this offseason.

That's just another excuse for MacCagnan to buy another non-playoff season without getting fired as if we haven't had enough of those around here lately.

This GM has been here going on five years at what point will the so called rebuild be complete and the expectation will be to win some games/make the playoffs/compete for a division title?

Halfway though the 10 years rebuild is that it? Con artist. A expert at staying employed despite delivering no results.

We've had far more successful GMs than him get shown the door after only five years yet he gets to stay despite delivering no results. Why?

So you would of just let Quincy and Leo go? Please tell me exactly what you would have done. The Vitt situation was put to bed this week in th paper. You don’t think the jets weren’t aware of the dynamics with hiring him and decided it’s not an issue? And I highly doubt you documented your displeasure with a 3-4 or for 4-3 prior to Bowles being let go. Our new defensive coordinator who’s knows more about defense in his finger then every poster combined decided sticking with current base defense and you trust who?

Sheldon Richardson is a better player than Leo and could be potentially cheaper.

Quincy has been good for us but he definitely got overpaid considering his injury history.

I'm in favor of the Jets paying their own they don't do it enough.

    When the player deserves it.

Enunwa - one year prove he can stay healthy deal is what he should've been offered.

Williams - try to trade him first but in reality I doubt any other team out there would give up a high pick AND pay him $14.2 million which is why the Jets aren't even going to try to trade him. Failing that I would've released him I think he'd be lucky to get half of what the Jets are going to pay him in 2019 on the open market.

How could they pay this player $14.2 million for 2019 off the miserable season he just had?

    Brutal cap management.

That $14.2 million and Johnson's monster contract is why they're sticking with the 3-4 instead of a much needed makeover of the defense.

It's still early so they still have boatloads of cap space. The news that keeps leaking out is like the hits just keep on coming not much good. I'm hoping for a miracle at this point.

What else are Vitt & Williams supposed to say at this point?

Everything is good no games are being lost, no pressure right now, they don't have to see each other on a regular basis right now.

When the real games start and (going by what I'm reading of their plans for this 3-4 defense) they're giving up 200 yards rushing games, games are being lost, anonymous quotes in the paper knocking Williams defense then what?

Some things are common sense. You don't bring two people like that together again. Duh!

I understand trading Leo if the offer is too good to refuse, but cutting him? That's just ridiculous.

You guys are arguing with a dude who does not watch football and couldn’t pick a 3-4 or 4-3 alignment out of a lineup.

Thank you. I am done arguing about this. And this guy is willing to cut Leo instead of paying him 14 million for one year and seeing what he can do in a new system. That says it all right there. Hey let’s cut everyone but Sam and Jamal amd will have more cap space

You're right but my job doesn't require me to be in peak physical condition.

I feel very comfortable saying I am better at my job than Leonard William is at his. I get the job done.:)

Hey what is this? You've already been warned by the mods to ignore me.

You can't go around calling people jerkoffs and trolls because you don't like or agree with someone else's point of view.

    Where are the mods? Jeez.

$14 million for one season is top notch football player cash not let's find out what he can do in a new system cash.

Spend that cash on better football players so Williams can run his base 4-3.

    Why?

Far better football players than him have been cut or hit the open market.

This isn't some HOF caliber player we're talking about here.

I’m not ignoring your opinions if I disagree with them. Your opinions are based on not watching football and therefore your obvious inability to distinguish what a defensive limeman’s responsibilities are 3-4 v 4-3.

    Good day, Sir.

We all understand your stance my man, but you aren't going to convince people that cutting a 24 year old Dlineman who was a top 6 pick is a good idea. He is 24 years old! Sometimes players take longer to develop. Wish it all you want, but the Jets ain't cutting the guy.

Although he hasn't lived up to the draft pick, he is a good-very good player whether you want to admit it or not. He has been in the wrong scheme and I am hopeful changing to this attacking scheme was with him in mind.

You act like Leo is Albert Hayneworth. HE was massively overpaid and he did deserve to get cut all those years ago.
