I bet Mac barely had anything to do with the hiring of that coach. Short and sweet, time for Gase to get to work. I don't want a coach that's a star in press conferences.

 

Till this day I will always be appreciative of Rex. He at least seemed like he was happy to be a Jet.

I liked the answer Gase gave to the question why his offenses weren't great in Miami.

He mentioned injuries and that he made adjustents to sacrifice offensive rankings to try to win games. He mentioned ball security which has been a big problem for the Jets going gack to Rex's time as HC.

 

Yeah, these football coaches are not great orators. You can't expect Obama's eloquent out there.

You can tell he understands the game, his place within the organization, and his excitement having Darnold.

Pretty much he said the QB sucked and the offense was limited, but in a very nice way.

I was really hoping this presser was going to excite me. Failed miserably, and it wasn't only cause of Gase.

Chris sounds like a total nimrod, and they didn't even let the GM speak once. Horrid.

 

I just really don't understand the "no playoff mandate" remarks. It's asinine to continue to say this.

 

I was very impressed by Chris Johnson. He is articulate, intelligent, thoughtful and well spoken.

Gase I am somewhere in the middle. He did not answer any of the questions which is good and bad. He is not very articulate and looks very uncomfortable in a suit but seems to have a lot of charisma. I noticed both Johnson and MAC had negative body towards Gase both seemed to be straining to be as far away from him as they could at the table.

Overall a pretty underwhelming press conference. Very little enthusiasm and very short. It seemed like mostly they wanted it done quickly so they could move on. Which is fine. Let's get a coaching staff picked and move on. Hopefully less of Gases buddies like Miami and more qualified coaches.
