Seriously... This has been the best our ST has played in sometime and outside of Westhoff there is no one that has made any improvements to our Special Teams since.
Our head coach would have the be a complete idiot to get rid of him. So no, there’s no chance we keep Boyer.
Usually new HCs will steer clear of an incumbent ST coach if hes productive bc it doesnt usually conflict w w any scheme or specific philosophy. I really like Boyer. He could be a mainstay for alot of years incl possibly future assistant Head or even full on HC.
As far as I can tell. My guess is the team won’t office announce anything until they introduce gase as coach tomorrow. With Williams and now Boyer coordinators look pretty solid.
It’s hard to be a jets fan with all the negative idiots who don’t realize their negativity permeates through the entire franchise. Take it at face value that the jets made a smart decision and kept a good coach.
I absolutely do not have that kind of influence on the Jets. I’ve also been called a homer for a better part of the last 5 years so I’m definitely not one of the classic darksiders either.
Don’t let the fact that we have a bunch whiny bitches moaning about everything, even the good things, make it harder on you to be a Jet fan. It’s hard enough.
Not only are the people here a microscopic fraction of the fanbase, they (including me) are an incredibly unrepresentative sample of that fanbase (the mere fact that we are here demonstrates that). Nothing that happens here has the slightest effect on the franchise. On the other hand, while I fully understand and support negative posts when things someone doesn't like happen (on the field or off), the incessant drumbeat of negativity for the past few days about the Gase hiring from a few posters (and that's all it is - just a few) certainly diminishes the experience for me. Enough already. More to the point, looks like the Jets front office making decisions about the coaching staff can be a good thing, no?
I’m very happy with this decision by Jets. I believe we all wanted this. Give credit where is due, glad Chris and Mac insisted on keeping Boyer.
Yeah it’s just a couple of dudes trolling every thread with a constant streaming of whiny negativity. I didn’t love the hire but I’ve completely warmed up to it and some of the hires/potential hires is giving me more of a positive vibe. That it appears from everything I’ve read that it’s nearly unanimous from all the “experts” that Gase is going to do wonders for Sam, at the end of the day, is THE most important and positive thing for me. Nothing matters more than developing Darnold. Nothing.
I wasn't happy about the Gase hiring, and still don't see much to recommend him. I just can't imagine coming here and posting dozens and dozens of negative comments about it at this point. What a crappy way to spend your time, pissing on everyone else's cornflakes. I hope I'm wrong, I hope he's the greatest QB whisperer ever, I hope the Jets are in the AFC conference championship game for the next 9 years. We'll just have to see, won't we.
You gotta stop taking the internet so seriously. I hate the hire. I also thought it was pretty obvious the reply was half in jest but I guess not so I’ll eat it.
