The whole thing is ludicrous. People dump on MM for having last two sub-par seasons in NFL, while ignoring the fact that in least two season Rhule has not exactly delivered in NCAA. MM was in Conference finals just two seasons ago, he is not washed up just yet.

BS I've done my research and I saw each of those WRs play a LOT. You have no freaking idea what you're talking about, as usual.

I suspected this much - with rape scandal being an excuse for mediocre performance. So much for "turning the program around". He led Baylor to two of the worst years in recent history - apparently with decent talent around him. No way should the Jets blow their load on this guy.

Francesa talks about Rhule at 5:23

I would like the Jets to look at Lovie Smith personally.

I'm looking into my crystal ball and it says Rhule will be fired after 3 seasons after going 19-29.

Matt Rhule is 36-40 as a college coach by the way...Macarthy had 8 winning seasons in a row....and his record is 122-77 with a Ring...Fuck Matt Rhule

Don't worry you just gotta completely disregard the 1-11 season that included losses to liberty college and UTSA. Sure Baylor still had considerably more talent then those two teams but that doesn't fit the medias golden Rhule narrative

I guarntee you its Mac who wants Rhule...Mac wants a coach he can have control over he knows that wont be the case with Mcarthy.Mac should be down in Tampa with Bowles right now.I will carry Mike Maccagnan on my back and carry him across state lines if I have to.

you guys all say you want an offensive mastermind/genius with an innovative and exciting offensive system and a proven track record of developing young QBs and enabling them to reach their full potential within his system and under his guidance....Art Briles would pretty much fit the bill on all of those counts, wouldn't he?

I would think that, at this point, it would be much easier for an NFL team to pull the trigger on him, than it would for a college to, so what about him?

I can see that perspective for sure.

For me it goes deeper than just the top of the roster, though. They got totally gutted by the scandal - AD, transfers, coaches, system, and an inability to fill out all their scholarships. There may have been some 4 stars at the top, but there was no depth and no direction - I mean they lost EVERYONE. Rhule came in and righted the ship inside to a respectable, competitive program of two years.

    https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sp...season-Baylor-s-Matt-Rhule-hopes-13168521.php

I get it though - he's not a slam dunk and has question marks. I just personally like his ability to galvanize, cultivate, and build up a roster devoid of even a normal level of talented depth...because that's how I see the Jets. He's a leader of men commensurate with what I personally see as a need for the Jets. Bowles and Rex both weren't it to me, the former being too passive and the latter being too out of control. I'd like to get one of those motivational guys that brings everyone together and gets buy-ins. Like Herm, BUT with a modern, progressive coach's football sense.
