Because the offense was insanely improved under Monken calling the plays. Koetter called one game this year and it was an unmitigated disaster.
I don't want Gase either the overwhelmingly negative take is starting to remind me of Marrone when he was available
Gase is clueless. Remember when Reshad Jones pulled himself from the Jets game early in the first quarter, Gase asked why Jones missed the last 3 quarters replied," I didn't know he was out". How do you not know your best DB is out? That's beyond Bowles level incompetence.
These are the things I was willing to hear out. Different roster, different situation. Maybe it would change. But when you couple it with the fact he’s accomplished literally nothing... what the hell is the draw?
I want no part of either Gase or Koetter. I don't think either has been much better than Bowles. I don't know a lot about Monken yet, but he seems to have been a very good OC for TB. He has a ton of offensive coaching experience and his coached with and for some good coaches.
Is there any reason to get excited about this guy? I was on board with Matt Campbell, who you brought up, after some convincing.
It’s so sad when a black coach gets an interview it’s because of the Rooney Rule and not because he’s earned it. Racism is always the easy route I guess. Maybe that’s why Anthony Lynn, African American former running backs coach for our New York Jets brought the Chargers to the playoffs. Cause of the Rooney Rule, not because he was qualified.
I am not sure who I want the Jets to hire for the next HC. The arm chair GM in me wants McCarthy but I am not sure if he is the right person for the job. I really do not have the time to survey HC prospects. Hell I barely get to watch the Jets anymore. I just hope and pray that who ever is hired they are the right person for the job and that Darnold thrives under their watch. I hope they surround him with talent especially the O-line so the poor kids has more than 1 second before he is scrambling for his life. Is it just me or does it seem that every time the ball is snapped he is instantly under pressure? I really want this team is be good again. Thanks for listening to the random rambling of the 9 year old Jets fan stuck in a 41 year old's body. PS And please, please, please let Mikey GM turn into be the best GM this franchise has ever had. Amen. Fingers crossed. Knocking on wood.......
Idk why you keep quoting my posts while railing on racism. Like I said you are being way too sensitive. I personally would love it if the league was filled with successful minority coaches. But the Rooney rule is the Rooney rule. I didn’t come up with it. They have to interview a minority candidate and unfortunately it’s a waste of time for many of them. I feel for guys like that because they aren’t real candidates, they are simply being used to fill a requirement. It’s not right. This year is Bieniemy’s turn for that. And NO he would not be getting the interviews he’s getting without that rule. I’m sorry, how many running backs coaches besides him are being interviewed right now in this league? Are there any?
You’re being racist. Period. Anthony Lynn just got a job and he’s a running backs coach and led his team to the playoffs. He’s getting interviews because the Chiefs offense is on fire. Same reason Pederson and Nagy got interviews in previous years. It has nothing to do with the rule. Tee Martin getting a Raiders interview last year is more likely a case of that. Gruden was their guy and they had to satisfy the rule which made that a likely candidate. If you want to be openly racist then be my guest, I’m pretty sure that’s not allowed on here but then again I don’t run the place. But to disqualify him because of the color of his skin is ridiculous and I rather not have a discussion with someone who looks at the world that way.
Also Dan Campbell is getting interviews and he was a tight ends coach, so you mean to tell me that someone will hire a tight ends coach but not a running backs coach.
You got to feel bad about these 4 to 5 black coaches been fired and not given a second chance is a shame. Wilks fired after one year In Arizona wow. I will make the exception for Marvin Lewis he was the reincarnation of Wayne Fontes of the Detroit Lions.
