Very convincing article. But it's from Manish and he's interviewing Fitz, who he built a relationship with when Fitz was a Jet. And Manish is notorious for praising those who he thinks he can get good quotes from and trashing everyone else. So I'm not sure what to think.
I get what you’re saying but I heard good things about Monken all season long from some NFL people on Twitter (Mostly about his schemes and aggressiveness) He led a very prolific offense this season with 2 QBs who turn the ball over like it’s going out of style I also like the fact that he took over a winless Southern Miss team and led them to a Conference title 2 years later

If the Jets hire Caldwell, do we get Jim Bob Cooter as OC, now that he's available? Caldwell hasn't been high on my preferred list, but if he brings Cooter along, maybe that changes the calculus. Added Cooter usually changes the math....
I’d think the Browns would be the top destination based on Mayfield, but perhaps league insiders see more long term potential in Darnold with a better supporting cast. Not to mention the immortalization that would come with winning one with the Jets.

He seems to have the right attitude about being aggressive which I like, but stepping up to being a HC is a big leap, and that's my main concern with hiring any of teh OCs or non-HCs who have no prior HCing experience. But if they can't get one of those, he's high on my "B" list. Interesting quote in that article from Fitzpatrick: "It’s great being able to play with that type of confidence and know that if you make one mistake, we’re not going to shrivel up and run the ball the next 15 times and throw a screen on third down." Hmmmmm...I wonder who he was referring to?
Ha. Love that quote. Though like you I would prefer an experienced head coach. With Bowles (and other first time coaches who flame out) you see the struggles with clock management, the struggles with being able to quell locker room drama effectively. The discipline issues. I want a guy who's been through the wars before and won't wilt when faced with these things like Bowles did

Why would Denver be a more desirable destination than Cleveland? Denver doesn't have a QB, has a bad OL, and doesn't even have the defensive talent that they had a couple of years ago. With Elway as GM, they're not very likely to improve their talent level, either. Similarly, why would Arizona be a more desirable job than Tampa Bay. Tampa Bay has a lot of talent. Arizona doesn't have much.

If you make Kingsbury your OC then he'll likely only be that for 1 year. You have to make him your Head Coach if you want to keep him. Adams wants Kingsbury as well so that's telling for a defensive player to want him.
