A SIBERIAN leper colony, thank you. And i hope he stubs his toe,has a canker sore & drives through a pot hole on the way to the DMV all in the same day too.
I'm not rooting for them to lose, but if they lose like they've done the last couple of games where Sam looks good, but they lose, I'm good with that. Beating the Pats ONCE out of all the times in the Brady Era that they've beaten us, is a flea fart in the wind, and meaningless compared to getting a higher D.P.
I would give our 1st round pick to Belichick for a 45-3 thrashing of the Pats in Foxboro Sunday and Brady carted off in a body cast. Hell right! OK...maybe our 5th round pick. Just sayin!
I would like to see Darnold play very well and end the year on a high note but I do hope we lose a close one. The Patriots will get smashed in the playoffs anyway and that will be their last hurrah as they watch us dominate the division for many years to come. The higher the pick the more flexibility we have to build our team. The only problem is trusting our crappy GM to make the right moves.
Crushing the Pats at home in a meaningful game would not only be awesome for all of us fans, but also for the psyche of rookie QB Sam Darnold, who doesn't carry the burden of the last decade+ of Pats dominance. As unlikely as winning there on the road is, it would be a signature win for Darnold and something to really build on next year when the Jets hopefully make a playoff run.
When the dragon is wounded & leaves itself open for another blow..you forget self preservation & go for the kill. If it were Miami,Buffalo or even the giants id be all for the tank. But this is different.Taking them down on Sunday could catapult us & be one of the final nails in them even into next season. Hayes went for 2 cause he couldnt go for 3 up double digits every chance he got against Michigan when the Luckeye program ascended, Lovie Smith made objective #1 when he got hired by Bears to beat Green Bay,ravens have always made it a point to never back down from the Steelers..certain rivalries have a macro affect on a team’s morale & mental toughness beyond the actual matchup. The hatred & synergy between certain teams is that strong & longlasting. We’re at that point with patty crooked. The cheating beast is wounded.Twist the knife.Slowly.
Thanks but Namath never thought much of patty crooked fans..and my football team will be just fine on Sunday..will yours? Happy holidays.
I hope the Jets beat the Patriots. I never thought I'd need to spell that out on a Jets message board. I get all the thinking behind the higher draft pick, and it is a valid viewpoint, but beating the Patriots with our shiny new QB, while theirs inches ever closer to retirement, would be a huge statement. If it's a scrappy game with nobody really playing well, then a higher draft pick will be a nice consolation prize for a loss. If Darnold plays well, as he has the past few weeks, I want him to hang 350 yards and three TDs on those cheating bastards.
I'd take 3,000 and 20 TDs regardless of outcome. Over a 16 game season that would translate to 3700 yards and 25 TDs. Very impressive for a rookie. Also, half of darnold ints came in two games, Minnesota and Miami. Future is bright regardless of the outcome tomorrow.
If the Jets win it'll more than likely cost NE a bye week and force them to be on the road in round 2 if they win. It'd be the Jets biggest win over NE since they knocked them out of the playoffs in 2010.o Of course it's worth it!!!!
