First 0:05 sec., hints of "Battle of Evermore" ...... from there too bad the studio engineer didn't kill that guy's mic - god is he awful!! .
This isn’t the John Stewart I know! Apparently he was in tight with Fleetwood Mac. Stevie Nicks does back-ups and I’m pretty sure Buckingham played the Guitar on this..
One of the most underrated X-Mas tunes ever. Lee Ving is a national. Treasure! Nothing like a hard line republican O.G. Punk!
The Carpenters. : ) I'm baking and blasting their Christmas album. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I like them, but I'll tell you why I like them. Karen Carpenter. Her creepy lude addicted brother wound up marrying his first cousin years later (ewwww) even though I have to admit he's talented in a creepy way. Not a little known fact, but Karen Carpenter was a mofo badass drummer of the highest tier. Gene Krupa admired her stick skills and thought she was exceptional. That's saying a lot. Her drum playing ability got shoved into the background when it was more marketable to highlight her voice. She never considered herself a singer. She considered herself a drummer who sang, but got pressured to make drumming second string. Holy Hell, you should see some videos when she was at her her peak of anorexia nervosa. Very sad; but it was probably the only way she felt that she had control over her manipulated life. Skin on bones, skeletal. Add a scam POS husband to the list of her sad life. Anyway, her voice is as rich and iconic as the day is long as corny as most of their songs are. You can say that so and so reminds you of and sounds like so and so, but no-one will ever sound like Karen Carpenter.
Three of the original musicians playing in this tribute concert, with a visibly moved son and another guy who also recorded with the original group there too in the background on the piano. Note that Eric doesn't use his pinkie in his soloing, like most rock and blues guitarists of the 1960s and 1970s.
Man, the first VH album is tough to beat. Hope the rumor of the original line up playing Yankee Stadium this summer is true!
Saw Clapton at MSG for his 70th Birthday celebration and was completely underwhelmed. As for While My Guitar Gently Weaps... this version is pretty good considering the star power on stage but the Rock and Roll HOF version that Prince did was other worldly!!!!
These guy weren’t grunge enough to get swept up in the Seattle hysteria of the 90’s. Too bad, should have been a much bigger band.
The most lovely and wonderful Sarah Vaughn. Probably one my favorite female vocal artists of all time. And she was a vocal artist. I could listen to her all day long. Thanks, Daddy.
Prince won this one handily in this battle. Heh. I still can't believe some people thought he was a shitty over-rated guitarist.
my guilty pleasure pop side - nice git/keys noodling https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=39&v=yfGEq0JWxGM .
