Wait, what happened to John Harbaugh? Even though Baltimore is likely PO-bound, didn't he and the FO agree to part ways at the end of the year? Is that off now?

Jim is a great option for the Jets, but John would be much better.

Jets win a SB in next 4 years and Harbaugh leaves, they can hire Pippy Longstocking to replace him and I’ll be happy.

Seriously though, if Harbaugh leaves after 4 years to one of the colleges you mentioned then so be it. Chances are we would have had some success, have a stud QB just entering his prime, I’ll take my chances.

Get Harbaugh now and worry about 4 years from now 4 years from now.

John's just much more realistic, I don't see Jim leaving his alma mater in disgrace after he still couldn't get over the Ohio State mountain.

John is not realistic, I don’t know if Jim is either but John is unobtainable if the Ravens decide they want to keep him, which all arrows point to.

If Jim wants to come back to NFL there won’t be a better opportunity for him.

Darnold, 100 mil cap space, top 5 pick and looking like a winnable AFCE going forward is a top notch opportunity. Oh and having an owner that may be willing to make him an offer he can’t refuse if reports are true certainly helps.

This is just more media drivel. He just made $7.5M at Michigan this season. Why the hell would he take less ($7M/year) to come coach the Jets? The Jets would need to pay him at least $10M/year to leave his ultra cushy gig in Ann Arbor. And even that isn't worth as much as what he's currently making living in the MIdwest.

He's also now setup to finally break through against OSU with Urban Liar stepping down and has a top 5 recruiting class coming in.

    I call Bullshit.

The article states well in excess of what he’s making now so either learn to read better or stop making shit up.

Sorry I’m extra cranky today since I’m in a doctors waiting room for 40 mins!!!

Just to throw a wildcard in this conversation, suppose Harbaugh wants to coach the Jets but Macc wants to choose his own coach not named Harbaugh..... What then?? Does Macc walk or does Chrissy pass on Harbaugh?

Lol funny guy. My point remains. They'd have to offer him $10M annually minimum to come here plus full control and he'd still probably turn it down. Pipe dream BS.

I don’t think it’s a rumor. PFT isn’t some nonsense blogger or Twitter account. The Jets wanted him in 2009 and 2015, but in 2015 he was destined to go to Michigan. I truly believe their offer is going to be excessive but we’re gonna finally land our guy

The reports say the Jets have been doing their homework on him for close to a month now.

They must believe they have a legit shot to get him.

If he says no that'll be that a quick end to their pursuit but if he's showing intent on coming back to the NFL I would expect other teams to jump into the bidding as well. Cleveland, Miami, Green Bay it could get crazy.

I hope he comes here and I'm glad the Johnsons are FINALLY after almost 20 years of ownership willing to do whatever it takes to get a big time football coach/czar in here to run the show.

But Sam looks real good. I'm not anointing him as the greatest QB ever, but how do jobs come along with a great young QB, a high draft pick, and 100 mil cap space?

I think Jets will be a VERY attractive job.

Can we make a run at Mike Tomlin instead?

He seems a lot more grounded.
