I'd take that, there are enough games in the season to check if Webb is competent. The worse thing to do is give him a quarter in Week 17 and he plays well - Bryce Petty-esque - and we think we've got a contender for 2019, when he's a JAG. Of course, we both know that we are unlikely to see Webb, ever.
Besides injury, I don't think there's any upside to sitting him. Pretty sad that every other first round QB is out there gaining experience today and Darnold is being placed in bubble wrap. Only the Jets...
just give us something positive to cheer and we can cheer like the best of them (at least I am guessing we can, we never have much to cheer about)
I mean, I mentioned injury within the first two words of my post, but ok. The argument was whether it would be worth sitting Darnold regardless of injury, which I don't agree with. But as a long time fan of this team, it's not surprising that this is even being discussed.
Whatever "magic" McCown had in his tank, it's clear the tank has run dry after seeing what he;s done so far these past three games. I mean if he could throw at all the Jets would've won that game. "Best chance to win"? Now is "Best chance to lose". If Sam can't play, then put Webb in. At least it would give us something to watch. "
McCown not being able to duplicate any of his “success” from last year is a great indication of the Jets offense as a whole. It sucks, and it’s players are massively overrated by some on this board.
