Scoring: You receive one point for every right pick. These points count towards your point total. Your receive 5 bonus points if you make the right guess in every game of the week. You receive 3 bonus points if you make only one wrong pick. You receive 1 bonus point if you make only two wrong picks. Bonus points count towards your point total. You receive one SNF (Sunday Night Football on NBC) point if you guess the winner of the SNF game. SNF points do not count towards your point total and are only used for tie-breaks. If two or more players have an equal amount of points, the player with more SNF points gets the advantage. Jackpot is when you make the right selection in every game of the week (5 bonus points). While the number of jackpots does not count towards your point total, it's also used for tie-breaks, in case if the amounts of SNF points are equal.
I would probably never run a pool in that manner, m'self. However, we all knew the rules before Week 1 and we all play under the same rules. Nobody got an advantage. Those that did not receive any bonus points, did not pick well enough to receive bonus points.
yeah, im not complaining about it. i just think it'd be more fun if it was fairer (is that even a word?)
Yeah, I know you weren't actually complaining. I agree it would probably be best to just have us pick the 256 games and whoever has the most correct picks at the end of the year would win. That said, the rules in place are fair in the technical sense of the word because we all knew beforehand what the rules are and the rules apply the same to everyone. I have received 5 bonus points. They all came from the same week when I went 14-0 one time. I have not had a 1-loss or 2-loss week. I wonder how many people had 1-loss and/or 2-loss weeks. We all know who had perfect weeks, but we have no way of knowing who had 1-loss or 2-loss weeks and how often. I also would like to know who JETSFOX and Vitolola are. I don't know why you'd play in this pool and not use your ganggreen handle.
yeah man i cant stand it either. i guess its like a pet peeve. and i had 2 wrong that one week... that was a good week for everybody tho. im sure almost everyone was really close
The stats on the main page are correct, as far as I can tell (noted in post 99). It doesn't matter if the stuff on our individual pages are off.
