The same guys who are whining that the Jets have made no trades would be whining next draft day that the Jets didn't have many draft picks and still had a bunch of holes.
He will still likely enter free agency. The Rams aren’t going to just sign him to an extension during the season and after the season Fowler has no benefit by resigning with them before free agency and not seeing what other teams will offer. Just because he may resign with the Rams doesn’t mean he won’t be a free agent.
Right, and now if DeMarcus Lawrence is given a contract by Dallas the free agent market looks extremely bleak for pass rush. But if you try to make a case on this board to trade for an edge rusher you're lambasted with: "You would trade away the future" and "besides, there will be plenty of options in FA so why trade".
You mean just like how there was no way the Rams would sign Brandin Cooks to a long term deal before he ever took a snap? Oh wait..
I'll be curious to see how Fowler does. Pretty minimal production this season (2.0 sacks) and has had some off-the-field concerns in the past, but also will be playing for a contract. They very much need an edge rusher, but had some questions about Fowler.
The same people mad we didn’t give up a 3rd and 5th for Fowler would be calling him a bust if the Jets drafted him with the 3rd overall pick and had same production. I’m baffled by Jets fans sometimes, did anyone really want to give up a 3rd rd pick for this guy in a lost season?
He should rack up great stats. The middle of the line constantly gets pressure and Donald on the other end. They wanted another edge rusher off the other side to Finish plays.
Teams with legitimate post season hopes making a trade in hopes, and 2 Super Bowl contenders in the Rams looking for the missing piece on D and the Eagles desperate to try and get back before their window closes. Not 1 of those players make the Jets a playoff team, or even improve the team past this season. All any of those trades may have accomplished is leaving us with fewer picks and a worse draft position.

The Jets can sign Fowler this off season with out giving up any picks and he's not even the best pass rusher out there ........apparently the FO is saying from here going forward it's about 2019.
I'd love to know what in you have with the Los Angeles Rams to be certain that they won't resign a guy that they traded two picks for before he hits the open market.
I didn’t say they wouldn’t resign him, I said they wouldn’t resign him before he became a free agent. Not sure how you are confusing those two.
