Boring. Undisciplined. Moribund. It’s time to move on. Bowles is a dinasour. This is an offensive league and we have the best QB prospect since Luck. We need to take advantage of that. Rather, we need not to waste it.
Good coaches find ways to improve their players. Which jet has been coached up? Shitty players? Law of averages. Gotta get it right sooner or later. Coaches need to teach them. Taps
It is possible also to recognize that there is a lack of talent and still see that the coaching staff is terrible. The talent is lacking, everyone knows that, but it's completely legitimate to question whether or not they are putting the players they do have in the best position to be successful, which many agree they are not. That and severe deficiencies in preparation and clock management, plus their inability to make adjustments at halftime, points towards a coaching staff that is severely lacking in many areas.
Exactly my brother next year is big for our GM it’s make or break ......give him credit for moving up in the draft and getting Sam.... and because he got us a franchise quarterback he gets one shot at fixing this team with draft picks and Free agents... The goal now is Not getting Sam hurt...
You can’t teach talent brother think about it the last offensive player we took in the first round other than last year was Mark Sanchez that’s a damn shame
Yeah, all the whining is for naught most likely. Save it for next year. This game likely had little effect on Mac's or Bowles' future
On a positive note we have the Bills and Miami coming up then a bye.If we end up 5-5 going into the bye it would be a miracle
Its soul destroying watching the Jets at the moment. We are below average on both sides of the ball, we have a coach who plays scared and allows the team to come out each and every week and make a ton of pre-snap penalties. An OC that wont let the QB pass the damn ball even with 8 in the box. A defensive mindset that gives up constant easy chunk plays across the middle. I watch every week. Its like scratching your eyes with a pen. I have zero faith in Bowles to do anthing with this team. I cannot listen to him anymore. He says the same things every week. Rinse and repeat. I did not go into the season expecting to make the playoffs. I had no hope of that. I wanted to see some player development in poise for a big Free Agency and draft for the whole organization. I was expecting a 6-10 season. But seeing all the same dumb penalties, and the trainers wheels on the QB are driving me crazy. Worst of all our play is so predictable. No wonder we struggle to do anything.
I think we should replace Bowles, but this shouldn't be the game that changes your mind about him. Even Sean McVay can't win with a bunch of practice squad players.
We're on pace for a 6-10 season. So if you were expecting 6-10 but not all the crap that's happening, what crap did you expect to happen that isn't happening?
I listed it. Re-read what I said. A reduction in penalties. Playing with some heart. Less safety first playcalling, better defensive calling. No restriction on what plays we call for Darnold. Some Imagination in our plays. Stats are not everything. One 6-10 season is not the same as another.
Re-read what I said. I didn't ask what good things you expected to see that you aren't. I asked what bad things you expected to see that you aren't. Because considering we're a 6-10 team now, if we had the reduction in penalties, heart, etc that you were expecting, then we would be better than a 6-10 team. But you were expecting 6-10, not better than 6-10. So there must have been some bad things you were expecting to happen that haven't happened. What were those things?
While we definitely have some talent shortcomings, I don't think it's as bad as you and some others claim. I think that some of the players who appear to be not so talented look that way because they are being forced to play in a way that doesn't suit their skills and abilities. We all know that Bowles is very conservative and inflexible. He doesn't have the players playing smart, disciplined football with consistency. He can't make adjustments and is usually outcoached. Neither he nor his CSs have done a good job of developing talent. I think with a better HC and CS that we'd see a lot more contributions and better play from those players that some of you think are untalented.
On the defensive side of the ball, I'd agree. There is some talent there, it's just not being taken advantage of by the coaching staff. The offensive side of the ball, however, is a different story. They are lacking in talent, but at the same time, Bates is doing absolutely nothing to help the cause either.
