I am certain MacCagnan is to blame for that man-to-man coverage. P.S. How did Bortles consistently figure out that the D was in man-to-man coverage, or in zone coverage anyway? Ah, right. That's also MacCagnan's fault. Right.
I dont care if they fire Bowles at any point of the season. I normally dont think firing a coach mid year is a great idea unless they have completely lost the team. I know they've played poorly but until last week they werent out of games. I think if they lose tomorrow then Mac needs to grow a pair and fire this coach. Going 1-5 will very likely mean were going 5-11 or worse. The talent here is worse than the sum of its parts under Bowles and Rodgers watch. Its time to move on.
Mac does not have the authority or power to fire Bowles. They are in a peer relationship, not a boss-employee relationship.
He fired every assistant twice over except the defensive guy and he’s suppose to be a defensive expert who’s hands off on the offense. He can’t manage a game , tell time and doesn’t have the guts to make a tough decision. He should kiss the ground he walks on for becoming a multi millionaire with his resume. Lol i watched just the 1:10 mark and called it. When the jets win, i can watch highlights 100 times.. it's embarrassing to watch them most of the time sadly
Here's what happened.....Bowles ran man2man with no safety help because he needed his safety (Adams) at the LOS in run support and adding pressure on Bortles. Our front 7 have little ability to disrupt the passing game. So Bowles pulled his best safety from the back and brought him up front. If Macc had gotten Bowles our 10-12 sack per season animal coming off the edge, you would not recognize the rest of our defense. Bowles needs to do a better job of disguising when he has players cheating up front. The slants they ran were in response to the D-formations Bowles felt like he had to use to bring more pressure up front.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing how the defense responds today. Last week was extremely embarrassing for sure. No point crying over spilled milk. Time for Bowles to pick up the D. On to Denver.
