Yeah, I'm with you on Coslet. Thought he would the guru we needed. The Jets asked Bill Walsh who he would recommend for a head coaching position. Walsh recommended Coslet and Mike Holmgren. Holmgren didn't want to move his family east. So the Jets choose Coslet by default. They tried to do the right thing it just blew up in their face.

Herm and Bowles are almost exactly the same in my opinion. I'm not talking color wise either. Both coached scared but Herm was at least a hype machine whereas Bowels is the most boring person on the planet.

I never thought Kottite would be good. He was awful in his time with the Eagles. He lost 7 straight games and this was the guy Leon Hess wanted to win with. The Jets gave up to early on Carroll and Kottite was beyond awful. I remember when he played for the Giant. My older brother called him Rich Kotex.

  4. They are similar but Herm’s Cover 2 D was actually decent once the DL fell into place.Bowles is a much better x’s & O’s guy but his schemes have been completely ineffective

Herm was very conservative but even he wouldnt punt w 4 minutes left down 2 scores like Bowles has done repeatedly.

Walt Michaels and it ain't close. Walt had the Jets playing great football. Don Shula had a trainer place a Ceti Eel in his head during the AFC Championship game and he turned into a mumbling vegetable by Sunday night of the game. Their were rumors of alcoholism. Yea sure...

I'm gonna go with Rex only because it started out so good, making expectations very high, and an important part of disappointment is the expectation

Herm may have cost us a real shot at a SB in both 2001 and 2002 by not starting a healthy Pennington. Even though Vinny had a good year in 2001, Herm brought in Hackett who was trying to run a WCO in 2001. Pennington was the perfect QB for that system. I have no doubt if Pennington started both years we would have had a 12 to 14 win season and a first round playoff bye path to a SB.

I also think this team is at least 2 and 2 maybe 3 and 1 with TB as the starting QB. The team is taking losses to develop Sam. If he doesn't work out Mac/Bowles are dead.

There were also rumors of amphetamines, a nervous breakdown, and extreme paranoia. Forget about Star Trek, I'll one up you and say Laurence Harvey in 'Night Gallery', the famous 'The Caterpillar' episode with the ear wig. Probably one the best episodes ever. Who didn't freak out every time they had an ear-ache growing up I ask you.

Please stop with your history revision. Herm wasn't anywhere near as scared as Bowles. Come on. That's complete nonsense.

You're 100% right. I think about this a lot. How many Jets coaches have gone on to success elsewhere. I can think of one and it's a dubious example at best - BILL BELICHICK !

Mangini was making an effort to build both sides of the ball, he was a QB away from having long term success. He’s my choice for disappointment, due to his weird and over the top personnel management approach.

I liked Herm as well but he didn’t have the eye for talent like Mangini and Tannenbaum combo.

    Oh yeah
Oh yeah maybe you should look at the playoff game against the Steelers. The one where Herm wussed out and would help the kicker Brien get closer. What was Martin right, Martin left, Martin up the gut for no yardage at all. Could have thrown a screen or even a bomb pass into the stands in the endzone. Anything that wasn't as predictable and having all 7 of the Steelers line and linebackers so close. Herm sucked too bottom line. Sure talked a good game but the production never matched his mouth. Don't even get me started on the clock management and having a coach on the payroll just for that.

Plus that incident at the Raider stadium. Walt thought Al Davis called him or had the locker room bugged. Went to the Raiders locker room and tried to get a piece of Al.

Bottom line boozer, I like you as a Jets fan, but - pardon my French - your assesment of Herm Edwards sucks a big fat veiny moose cock. Lumping him with Bowles is ASSinine. I'll agree to disagree with you though.

Forgot about that one. Does that make him crazy, paranoid or brilliant? I think Al Davis would have done that. Didn't Michaels put a pile of cash on the table before the AFC championship game against Miami to show the players the winners share?

I think I saw it on the news before the game. He was ranting and pounding the table and there was a big stack of small bills on the table.

Already done a page back. Forget about the ill gotten SB wins and cheating their way to everything imaginable, but stealing a million dollars from a dying old man makes him one the biggest shitbags ever.

EDIT & P.S.: Hahaha, the Eagles fake walk through. Eat shit, Belichick. Even Peyton Privileged Manning wouldn't talk plays inside Foxboroughcheat Stadium or Gillettecheat Stadium locker-rooms convinced it was bugged. He would talk in whispers in the hallway. CCTV for player security! Believe that one, I'll tell you another.

Parcells... the shit he pulled with Leon Johnson in that Detroit game and also not having a backup QB behind Vinny is unforgivable.
