nobody who gets 8 sacks and 2 more in the playoff is flirting with bust status. gholston couldn't get 8 sacks in his career. he was a bust. we'd also work out his extension as well if we were to get him. same rules apply. mack is holding out right now as we speak. fowler is not. he'd also get a new contract as part of the trade so no none of that would happen.
Some "fans" like assholes based on "stats" but don't appreciate "elite" production players with superior locker room personas. They'll never learn. I weepz for the children.
Fowler is absolutely in bust status. He's missed a lot of time with injury, he's a proven asshole off the field, is a locker room problem, was just suspended by the team THIS PRESEASON, and isn't even a starter. And that's the return on a 3rd overall pick? Jax would happily pan him off on us. Why would you possibly hand that guy an extension? At best it'd be a prove it deal, no immediate extension. He has a terrible track record and minimal production. Look past the sack numbers, Jax has an excellent secondary.
I'm glad you want to give a one dimensional underachieving asshole a big contract. You understand you'd have to give EITHER of them a big contract. Please tell me you understand the dynamics in the Mack v Fowler discussion. Please--you're one of the better posters here.
You are fucking clown shoes. First let's look at Abraham, averaged 10 sacks a season over the next 8 seasons after the trade. Allen, 85.5 sacks in 6 seasons with Minn after the trade, Seymour put up middling sack numbers but I never claimed every trade works out. You go back and forth so much you can't remember what the hell you said, before you were going on and on about it being a team game, I wasn't aware each of these players was the whole fucking team. Oh, and all the wikipedia info you posted about what the Jets and Chiefs did with the draft picks they received, did any of that result in a Super Bowl. Can you rub together 2 brain cells and see how you contradict yourself within the same paragraph? As far as your statement that "Jet fans do not create and decide what Oakland's trade demands are for that of Khalil Mack". First of all, every time you use similar words, like "create and decide", when trying to put one sentence together, you look like a brain dead wannabe St.Pete rapper. But anyway, of course as fans we do not "create and decide" what the Raiders will accept as compensation for Mack but we are the ones here discussing the fucking trade here so try and keep up. The posters here are saying a first, or a first and a third. Maybe one poster said two 1sts, so you you going on and on about "How many teams have ever traded away multiple 1st round draft picks for an OLB/DE?", is just you posting inane questions to try and sound knowledgeable, when we all know you would be lost without google and wikipedia. Your question about, "When was the last time an OLB/DE won an NFL M.V.P award?". More of you forgetting what you just said. If you go on and on about winning a Super Bowl then how come your question wasn't, When was the last time an OLB/DE won the Super Bowl M.V.P award? That answer would be 2 out of the last 5 As far as your "Quoted for truth" dumbfuckery. The Raiders can say they want 2 1st's, a dancing monkey, and reanimation of Al Davis. If Jets fans on TGG are saying they would do the trade for a first, or a first and a third. Why the fuck would your question, "How many teams have ever traded away multiple 1st round draft picks for an OLB/DE?", matter in the least. As far as telling me to "stop living in fantasy world", how's that million dollar recording contract going for you?
His team didn't pick up the 5th year option on his rookie after drafting him 3rd. Jax knows (i) he's an asshole and (ii) a bust in waiting. Btw, comparing him to Gholston is such a logical fallacy it defies categorization.
Could the Donald contract drop the Raiders' asking price? If they don't want to pay that much, teams will know they can get Mack after this year.Though, I guess he could be franchise tagged, right?
missed a lot of time? he's played every game in the last 2 years. yes he missed his rookie season with a torn ACL it happens. but he hasn't missed a game since and played every game the past 2 years. hardly an injury risk. his off field issues have been minor. same could be said of a large number of players in the NFL. jax used him as a situational pass rusher and he's filled that role well. jax is also in cap hell and won't be able to resign him. yes mack is better nobody is denying that. but he is holding out for more money. will likely get 22+ mil a season and cost multiple 1st round picks. I'm sorry but i'm not giving up that much for 1 player. i'd rather draft a pass rusher and a LT with those 2 picks and save the money for use elsewhere. a 3rd rounder isn't a lot to give up for a guy who can get you 10 sacks which right now, we don't have. and no i'm not saying to pay him 20+ mil a year. he'll get a reasonable deal. maybe highly incentivized based on playing time and sacks and mac is smart enough to build an out in it after a couple of years just in case
He could be tagged next season, but he could also sit out this entire year. The longer this goes, the less the trade value gets for Oakland. They will eventually have to either buck up, or trade at a more realistic price. Personally I think they will buck up. It would be foolish not to......I'm just hoping they are foolish.
Jax can't afford his 5th year option they literally have no cap room. why are you ignoring this. it's like saying cooks sucks becuase NE traded him when it was really they couldn't afford him
everyone just stop ... the guy thinks that Sharon Lee is gonna have a breakout year, Mac deserves a pass for drafting Devin Smith and Hack, we're gonna win 10 games this year and Darnold will win ROTY oh and Mack is too old ...
What the fk are you talking about? Since when has Mack "elevated" everyone on his defense? 2017's Oakland Raiders Defense: • 20th in points allowed. • 24th in defensive sacks. • 27th in yards allowed per play. • 30th in QB Rating against. • 31st in turnovers forced. • 32nd in defensive INT's. "Elevates his defense around him" HAH!! Since when?!? PS: He's also "led" his Oakland defense to a career losing record of 28-36 overall (ala a career losing percentage of (.437%) along with 3 losing seasons throughout his first 4 years of play. Yea. Right. Some defensive leader that guy is and one who "elevates everyone on his defense"... lol. I can not believe you just said that.
You need to do a little more homework on Fowler. His off the field issues demonstrate a disturbing lack of character. And it apparently carries on to the field, thus the infighting and current suspension handed down from Jax. You admit he's a situational pass rush at best. Why would you give up a 3rd AND hand him an immediate big contract based on all of the above? Really it makes no sense. At most maybe a 5th or 6th round flyer on a prove it year to see if he can get his act together..
No one other than clown shoes is claiming that other posters want to give up multiple first round picks for him. I have never advocated that, but giving p a 1st plus something else "Mac is smart enough" to offer will give us a game altering presence just entering his prime. And you're assuming Fowler will take a "reasonable" contract based on incentives? Why would you assume that? For ANY contemporary athlete ready to strike it rich, especially a guy who is a dick. For a one-dimensional player. His off the field issues aren't minor--he's a widely acknowledged asshole. I don't care about a "large number of players" that aren't Jets--I don't want ANY assholes here.
Sorry, guy, but you need to check your facts. Fowler missed his rookie season in 2015. He didn't miss a game in either 2016 or 2017. It does take some time to completely recover from an ACL tear, so he only had 4 sacks in 2016, but had 10 last season. That's hardly a bust. That's just laughable and beyond ridiculous. I agree with you on the asshole part, and imo, that's reason enough not to trade for him. You don't have to twist facts otherwise to justify your position. Besides, it wouldn't be the 3rd overall pick. It would be a 3rd round pick (or at least that's what some posters have said that they would trade). HUGE difference.
Stop googling statistics and Wikipedia and do some research clown shoes. Or continue to cut and paste nonsensical "stats" and maybe figure out a few percentages with your calculator.
Jax has 5-6 guys they can cut or restructure to get under the cap and if he were the game changer you and clown shoes keep saying he is, they could easily afford him/ Three positions you don't let walk because of money. Why are you ignoring this? It was discussed and decided pages ago. Pretty soon clown shoes will cut and paste some irrelevancy that will prove nothing other than he is a tool and doesn't understand the dynamics. Wait for it.
He was a 3rd overall pick, missed a full season, proven asshole off the field, locker room cancer, suspended by his team this season, hasn't earned a full time starting role, and the team looking to move on from him after not picking up his 5th year option. that's a bust guy.. they got no return on an extremely valuable draft pick. ask a Jax fan what they think.
