It seens more information is coming in so I'd retract masterstroke until I get all the details. But as it stands I'll the bird in the hand.
How is he going to get hurt? Not to mention, that's a stupid argument. Anybody could get hurt at any time. What if Brees get hurt? You're telling me Bridgewater doesn't instantly become worth more than a 3rd? At least Brees will actually participate in practice and games, unlike Teddy who would hold a clipboard with the Jets. What if Eli gets hurt? What if Roethlisberger gets hurt? What if Aaron Rodgers or Dak Prescott gets hurt?
Mack would most likely be lights years better than anyone the Jets could draft with that 1st pick. A 1st and a 3rd is a no brainer for me considering the state of our pass rush.
Exactly. Anyone can get hurt at anytime. Most likely it won’t be Eli tho. Most likely the guy who missed two years.
Carolina will also probably be looking to sign OL in FA (as well as at least a half-dozen other teams).
I would have waited through the first three games since they're all bunched up in an eleven-day stretch in case Darnold or someone else's QB gets hurt, but I understand why they needed to get this over with - it just becomes too difficult to divvy up practice reps when McCown actually has to get some.
Meanwhile, I have the same number of Super Bowl rings as the entirety of the Jets organization over the last 50 years.
I'm not a sell the farm kinda fan. But when arguably the best defensive player in the entire NFL is potentially available, and happens to be the teams greatest need, and the team has the most cap space in the league, AND we just acquired a starting QB for the next 5 years for next to nothing... You pay the iron price.
Ummmm no Im not,,,,,,,,keep drinking the kool aide guys I can't wait to see who Mac drafts in round 3,,,and I hope to god that Darnold is really ready and does not get killed behind this O line
... who won't physically be doing anything for the remainder of the season (unlike every other starting QB in the league).
I wouldn't have minded them holding on to him a little longer to see if anything changed in September, but I also have no problem with this trade. And if he leads them to a Super Bowl I will be sad (because I like Brees), but otherwise quite happy (because I like the Saints and don't particularly care about the NFC other than rooting against the Giants). He was never going to be part of the Jets' future, so unless you think the Jets were going to the Super Bowl this year caring about what Bridgewater does makes no sense to me.
