You are allowed to feel that way and they should stand, but lets be honest though joe, the whole thing would've faded away last year if the dummy president didn't continuously pick the fight.

maybe it was for attention, maybe it was to divide the nation, maybe he needed a distraction, I dunno, but I'll tell ya what if that asshole called me a son of a bitch for or suggested I get deported, I'd kneel too.

that is what America and the flag is all about. Saying "f you" to overzealous leaders

He did this because he has a grudge with the NFL...I don’t think he cares about any of the other stuff. He just knows that by him talking out against them he’s hurting their business and it worked.

This whole “issue” is like a microcosm of where our country is today...polarizing sides about trivial issues and the media fanning the flames....people with perspective in the middle just sitting there with their hands up saying to themselves WTF

At the end of the day we just see things differently. I do not fall in the "fanaticism" group that most in America do when it comes to the flag.

wrong. Unlike Woody, he agreed to a plan and didn't abandon it after 1 season.

I can’t argue with that , but I still feel there is a better way to go about the injustice in the world than protesting our anthem and flag ... I just see it as disrespectful to our country and our service men and woman .

I agree a real stand up guy. I'm sure the players will appreciate him even more. He has their back. I can't agree with you on the last part about a 2nd term. But I did think about for a nanosecond just to keep Woody away from the Jets.

I guess you missed the whole reason why they are doing it in the first place.

Even though people are flat out saying they aren't doing it to disrespect the service men and women that have fought/died for the country?

Kneeling has nothing to do with the flag or disrespecting the flag, country or servicemen. The service defends people's right to do this very thing. It's disrespectful and much more dangerous to democracy telling them they cannot peacefully protest. See Nazis circa 1930's. If people would stop doing the very thing they are protesting against then they would be no kneeling. Protesting is a protected right in the Constitution.

No the military that protects the rights for these players to do what they are doing instead of being murdered for speaking out like in other countries.
People have the right to disagree ... I disagree with your thinking .

Plus there is no law or rule that says you have to stand for the national anthem...none.

Nothing wrong with that. I value other people's opinions. Not here to try and change your mind.

Speak to a vet or current member of the military and see if they feel disrespected or not .

Discussions like this are important ... we should just try to be respectful of each other in the process .
That’s the great thing about this country , having the ability to speak our minds ... sadly I feel we are changing to the point where everything is censored for being “hate speech” and that to me is a very dangerous proposition.

The military community is just as divided.

For people of color in this country, the athletes/entertainers are their voice. We can't speak our mind and have it be heard otherwise. So for these athletes to spread awareness on the issues we are facing, on arguably the biggest stage there is (the NFL), is very important to a lot of people. How else can we express and promote awareness on what is going on daily in our neighborhoods?

That's not a good argument. There are plenty of vets that feel disrespected and plenty too that think all the bitching about it is stupid. Basically they are divided like everyone else is

My uncle fought in Nam and lost all but two in his company. He has lung cancer and his brain is all fucked up. You know what the VA does? They ship him around from hospital to hospital because nobody wants to deal with it.
