Right now we are right in the mix of things in this exciting/surprising season and here is where we stand for the last 5 weeks: 6-5 @ Packers Bills @ Vikings @ Dolphins Raiders Not to point out the obvious but our last 5 games are all winnable facing all sub .500 teams. The only tough games I see left this season lie within our own division. Both teams are playing good football right now, but we cant ignore the way we are playing either. I see us at worst with a 9-7 record... and yea 11-5 isn't impossible either. As long as we finish within the 9-7 - 11-5, I can see us pulling off a Playoff berth (11-5 with out a doubt). If we by some way accomplish this, Mangini is a lock for coach of the year. Alright for the last 5 weeks I am going to post the team's we want to lose, and for week 13 they are; the Patriots(8-3) , Bengals(6-5) , Jags(6-5) , Chiefs(7-4) and the Broncos(7-4). Patriots at home VS. Lions Bengals at home VS. Ravens Jags @ Miami Chiefs @ Cleveland Broncos at home VS. Seahawks So lets kick the Packers asses and hope the cards fall into place! Bengals, Jags and Broncos will lose!(I hope) The Chiefs might have it harder then it seems. As for the Pats, we need a prayer for Detroit to pull it off. A Bills loss wouldn't hurt either. LETS GO!
Bengals have a tough match up against the Ravens and the Broncos are introducing Cutler against the reigning NFC Champs. This could be a good week. But most important we can't have another let down like we did against Cleveland
Lets go Jets and Cleveland. A ravens and miami win would be nice as well, but you cant expect every team we need to lose, to actually lose.
in all likelihood, the Pats can win out too. but here's the thing: they take every team's best shot on a weekly basis. Denver is dicey right now. Cutler can be the real deal, or he can suffer major rookie mishaps. Jax looks iffy too. they're inconsistent and have a tough road ahead. Cincy somewhat scares me because Palmer & Johnson are catching fire at the right time. but, again, they're inconsistent too. KC - let's hope it comes down to the wire for them, because we know Herm will tuck under his shell and play not-to-lose, which may very well lead to losses. of course, none if this matters if we don't win out. but looking at other teams' schedules, if we somehow win out, i think we're in. one game at a time. put the heat on Farve. cheers
We got a very good chance. We don't have to win out because Denver is starting Cutler, KC aren't that good on the road, Cinc and Jax has an extremely tough schedule, and there are two Wild Card spots in play. I just made a $40 bet with a friend that the Jets will make the playoffs (and $20 that Cinc won't, $10 that the Giants will, and $10 that the Rams won't). LETS GO JETS !!!
I posted this in the other thread but that seemed to fall off. My Playoff Look: Opposing Team Schedules: Jets: 21-34 Jags: 34-21 Chiefs: 29-26 Bengals: 31-23 Broncos: 29-26 I left the Dolphins off because I honestly don't see them running the table to get one of those playoffs spots. This looks pretty good for us. The Jaguars have two tough road games at Miami and KC and a third tough home game with New England. The Chiefs have to play two 9-2 teams (ravens, chargers) in two consecutive weeks with one being away. Teh Bengals have to play the Ravens next week and their last three weeks will be extremely difficult with the Colts, broncos and steelers. The Broncos have to play Seattle, San Diego, and Cincinnati in their last five games. Looking at the schedule I would say we are looking much better than anyone could have expected. Our hardest game is going to be Miami in Miami. I believe if we can get to 10 wins we will get a playoff spot. My preciction for records of our opposing teams. Projections: Jaguars: 7-9: The only team I can see them beating is the Titans. Chiefs: 10-6 Bengals: 8-8 Broncos: 11-5 I think we are going to have to finish at 10-6 to make the playoffs and have the tie breaker over KC.
A wise man once said not to speak of the "P word" when it may not happen. Let's just play one game at a time.
I think we'll diffenitly go 10-6 but 11-5 is not a long shot..The D is getting on a roll and are going to be very tough to score on....giving up under 12 pts a game since the bye week..they are only going to get better.
I partially agree but personally I like figuring all this stuff out and rooting against certain teams each week. Gives me something to figure out during classes.
The most important thing is for the jets to win sunday, and hope that atleast one team we want to lose will. We cant expect everyone to lose every game.
Cincinnati still has to play at Denver and Indy, as well as Pittsburgh at home. But I think this week at Green Bay is a must must win for the Jets.
Exactly- all of this talk is irrelevant if the Jets can't beat GB. If they can beat the Pack, then I'll seriously contemplate playoffs.
Wow, lot of optimism in here! I'm just going to come over and pee on the fire - 8 & 8, if we are lucky 9-7. It has been my projection since after the first 3 games, and I think it still will stick. But you know what they say, shoot for the stars, and you still shouldn't be disappointed in the end.
