There may be a few teams out there who believe that decent coaching can put Petty in a position to be successful. Who did the Jets have coaching Petty and Hackenberg? A guy whose biggest claim to fame is walking around the USA a la Forrest Gump. Hmmm, that brings up another problem, doesn't it?

trade petty and cut hack as they don't have 20th round picks anymore that somebody could trade with.

Yeah, let's just play it safe. Don't want to rock the jewel-encrusted boat that is the Jets of the last 8 years.

There is no question mark. Hack is far worse than Petty and petty is a boarderline #3 QB on a bad team. Trade Petty for whatever you can get and let Hack carry a clipboard, at least that doesn’t require any footwork or reading progressions.

If some one wants to trade for Petty please do it quickly as he will be cut before training camp. This guy just doesn't have it.

The Jets should take the best offer a team makes for Petty. He has no future on this team.

I'm happy for him. The kid just needs a real coach. Since the Jets have none throughout the coaching staff it hurt his development. I will continue to root for him if he moves on.

He’s going to be inactive or holding a clipboard the rest of his career. He’s just not good.

Maybe but I think he'll have a better future getting far away from the Jets. Maybe you really meant Hackenberg. You know the guy that was inactive and held a clipboard since he was drafted. Everyone can't be a starter and there have been some great back up's. Earl Morrall comes to mind and so does Steve Young. Not saying he's in that group but Steve Young didn't look good at all in the USFL and with Tampa Bay. But with the proper coaching and the right opportunity, things can happen for the better.

They are both awful. Hackenberg is just the worse of the two. Neither will amount to anything.

It’s weird to me that you’re here supporting Bryce Petty, a guy that we’ve seen be awful, but you’re bashing our third round pick before he even signs his contract.

I can because for one Petty was successful in Division I college ball. He made the Jets and started for them also. Not all his fault that the OL got him almost killed against Miami. Not his fault Bates can't coach out of a wet bag. This 3rd round pick hasn't even suited up in the pro's and his college film looks sloppy. How many Canadians make it in the NFL?
