I hope the Jets will sign Swanson. I think he'll push Long more than Harrison will and would be a better backup. Then even if the Jets get Ragnow in the draft, they could move either Long or Ragnow to the OG and cut Carpenter.
LB corp is packed. Should be a good competition there and maybe some better overall depth. Edge on the other side of Jenkins could use a pass rusher tho.
He is and always will be an OLB (WIL) in a 4/3. I would bet he goes on to have a very good career in that position
Benson Mayowa, we visited with him early on hopefully it comes full circle. Would swap him out for Ealy any day.
This might be the biggest WTF moment of the offseason so far, fortunately it's not so consequential. Ben Ijalana resigned for 1yr at 2.5M. Kony Ealy signed with Dallas for 1 yr at 1.25M. Really?
If we are serious about drafting and grooming a QB taken at # 3 overall, Dez Bryant would be a nice security blanket. The Cowboys just cut him and we have no shortage of cap room.
I thought Ealy did okay for us and more than okay in a couple of games, not even sure if we offered him a deal either and as for Ijalana, he has only started 13 NFL games ever, absolutely mind boggling really.
I'd read they had an offer, but stunningly must have been less than 1.25M apparently. For what he did, his talent, and versatility, he was absolutely worth 1.25M especially considering the state of DE and OLB now. That they keep valuing Ijalana so much is bizarre.
