All speculation is that the Pats are targeting a Solder replacement at #23. It makes sense. The Pats have depth at WR, but I still wouldn't be surprised if the offered #31 and a future 1st for Beckham.
This makes makes way more sense than the P*TS trading the farm to move up for a QB. They give Br*dy a new toy, and give it another run or what the Greek wrote
This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have seen people say they have decent depth at WR. Who? Edelman? Hogan? Malcolm Mitchell? An uproven Philip Dorsett? 3 of those guys missed serious time last year. They also lost Amendola and Dion Lewis. I can't see them moving heaven and earth for a QB. IMO, I don't think BB wants leave anything in New England. I think when his era ends he doesn't want anything left behind to be connected too.
Stan Kroenke trying to by a championship for his shiny new stadium. Rams host the Eagles again next season. That will be on Sunday Night Football. Book it.
Then you clearly haven't been actually following what B.B. has been doing and is doing. Sorry to break it to you but B.B.'s words and actions have shown that he's not close to being done coaching, and this move just allows him to continue to stock the shelves. As for your comment on the WR's, also seem to have a short memory, while all three were injured a lot last season, Edelman, Hogan and Michell were the most significant parts of the offense that resulted in wining the Super Bowl the prior year.
Edelman will be 32 next month and is coming off a torn ACL injury and has a long list of lower body injuries that have impacted him in the past. Banking on him (And Gronk for that matter) to remain healthy would be insane. On top of that, Malcolm Mitchell has a total of 32 receptions in his career.
And your Point is? The Pats won the Super Bowl with Edelman, Hogan, and Michell while Gronk was out, and by the way, the reason Michell only has 32 career receptions is because he only played his rookie season. Do you know how many 4th round rookies caught 32 passes their rookie year? He was also came up with some huge catches in the Super Bowl. As of now the Pats have a WR Depth chart: Edelman Hogan Mitchell Brit Patterson They've won Super bowls with far less and will likely ad a piece or two. Call me crazy but, I'm not losing any sleep over it.
That offense is significantly less talented. It has got to piss Brady off that they are unloading players in his final years. I think its an ego thing, BB is still pissed they made him trade off Garappolo so he's gonna fuck with Brady and rebuild
BB has been doing this for years..he got rid of a guy before they had to pay him big bucks and kill the cap. He will use those picks to trade for a few veterans and they will be fine.
Who would give a first for Gronk given his injury history and the fact he is openly talking about retiring? I think this is a smart move by the Pats as now they don't have to pay Cook either as he is going to want $$$$ I am not a fan of the move for the Rams, I get that he seems better than any WR in this draft but he doesnt look great and is going to want to be paid and soon.
Good! I hope Bellicheat doesn’t retire.I want his regime to go up in flames in the grandest of manners.Players already hate playing for him & his ridiculous ego.Lets see how far he gets when the one reason players stay (winning) is off the table.Same w the Boston media. Shady is near the end...there are rifts between all 3 of the cheater sisters..burn baby burn! If the jets ever turn things around I want Bellicheat there in New England to view it in all its glory.Further I want everyone of those douchebag fans to have the hope Cheater provides only to see the lowly jets hoist Lombardi. Spy on our parade you tainted arrogant pricks!
That Pats offense is not scary at all anymore filled with marginal talent that are all injury prone. I know you can’t get on Belicheck and all but if it was anyone else he would be getting crucified for this offseason. Brady has no intention of retiring but he may have second thoughts when he sees who is protecting his blind side.
Haven't we learn anything after years of getting our asses kicked by the Pats. It doesn't really matter who the receivers are. Average to above average talent is all Brady needs to tear any team a new asshole. As long as Brady is there the only way to beat him is to get to the QB, often, quickly and hard. That is why you need a monster pass rush out of your front line and OLB. Something we have not had non withstanding the selection of Mo, Sheldon and Williams. Until we can do that consistently, it doesn't much matter who the WRs are for Brady. And BB knows that better than any one. Getting premier WRs only makes TB more dangerous than he already is.
He’s 42 years old.Father time is undefeated.Kraft keeps counting on a gradual manageable decline..and it doesn’t work that way.The cliff is almost instantaneous. As long as he’s there & still productive they’ll be they’ll be competitive & in contention..but Boston Media & cheater fans have everyone convinced he’s never coming back to earth.. I’ll take great joy when Shady starts to play his age & massholes start denying/deflecting rationalizing like they always do when things don’t go their way
May your words reach Father time's ears in 2018. Brady I don't like but I respect. If there is one person in the Pats organization that I can not stand above all else is Kraft. He takes the shady concept to a different level.
I don't think they have enough to get to 2, but to get to 5ish or so. If they throw Gronk on the deal, things could get interesting ...
This is the one thing that worries me about this trade. Brady and OBJ would be insane together. Brady has arguably never had a receiver that talented, although Moss comes close. With the Pats in win now mode, I could see them pulling the trigger. I'm not worried at all about them trading up for a QB. They recently came out and said Brady wants to play another 4-5 years, so they aren't drafting a replacement just yet. If they trade up, I believe it will be to the mid 1st round for a tackle.
Kid just put up 65 receptions for 1,082 receiving yards along with 7 TD receptions. More importantly due to his speed and quickness he was a nightmare matchup for opposing DC's especially when Gronk was lined up. Started 15 games and played in all 16 outside of head concussion during SB loss. Maybe the Patriots know something in regards to the severity of his head injury in which we don't know but at the age of only 24 his production and game breaking ability will not be easy to replace this late into free agency. I have a feeling that N.E took what they could get due to not being able to afford Cooks talents long term. Their hand was forced and as an NYJ fan I'm happy. I know N.E is better than our lowly Jets but you've gotta admit N.E's had an awful offseason thus far.
On a side not the Rams just got stronger. Their Franchise QB in Goff just got another dynamic offensive weapon to work with and potentially grow alongside of. For a kid with a great throwing arm i know he's excited for this Cooks addition. I know I'd be. Although I don't think Brady is. For right now at least . Good luck to the NFC stopping Gurley come 2018.
